Patent number: 9556646Abstract: The present invention is directed to a latch actuating device that includes a handle and a base. The handle has a cavity that houses a lockset, a drive cam, and a driven cam. The drive cam has a protrusion that is removably received within a locking receptacle in the base so as to permit and restrict rotation of the handle with respect to the base. The drive cam causes the driven cam to translate along a rotational axis of the drive cam when the drive cam is rotated by the lockset, thus effectuating the insertion and retraction of the protrusion with respect to the locking receptacle.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2015Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: HMI USA, INC.Inventor: Daniel A. Publication number: 20130332239Abstract: A dispensation system is provided that may allow for dispensing treated water from an on-site treated water device directly to reusable containers used by customers at reduced or no cost to the customers. Particular costs of the treated water to the customers may be based on the customers' willingness to provide information through the dispensation system. The cost to a particular customer and the amount of information shared by that customer may be inversely related. The information may relate to purchasing preferences or other lifestyle information about the customer. The dispensation system may share the information with an advertiser that pays to present targeted advertising to the customer, for example, through video advertising at the dispensation system while the customer uses the dispensing system.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2013Publication date: December 12, 2013Inventor: Daniel A. Patent number: 6616153Abstract: A hand truck assembly includes a lightweight body, such as is formed of a blow molded plastic material, in combination with a folding metal platen for supporting a load. The platen has a support area and a pair of mounting ears which extend upwardly from the support area. An axle extends through a transverse passage defined by the body, and the platen is pivotably mounted to the axle for movement between an inoperative raised position and an operative lowered position. A guide arrangement is interposed between the body and the platen for guiding movement of the platen between its operative lowered position and inoperative raised position. The body includes parallel rail sections which impart significant strength to the body. The body further includes an upper handle section having a forwardly directed handle, which provides ergonomically advantageous operation of the hand truck assembly.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2001Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Matre Design, Inc.Inventors: Daniel A.
