  • Patent number: 11731176
Abstract: An automated refurbishment system for cleaning and testing recycled child-safe containers. The system takes in durable, child-safe container bodies and caps after usage, washes the container parts reduce an amount of contaminants, and then dries the washed parts. The system then assembles the child-safe container bodies to caps, and tests the assembled child-safe containers, to assess the functionality of the child-safe features. The clean and tested refurbished child-safe containers can then be reused to dispense controlled substances (e.g., pharmaceuticals). Specific modules of the system can be interchanged to allow compatibility with different styles and designs of child-safe containers. The refurbishment system facilitates the recycling and reuse of durable, child-safe containers as an alternative to the current practice of using single-use, disposable plastic child-safe containers to dispense prescription pills and other controlled substances.

  • Patent number: 10518939
Abstract: A high quality child resistant container comprising a durable metallic reservoir and durable plastic metal cap. The child resistant container comprises a durable and rugged reservoir and similarly durable locking cap. The cap is secured to the reservoir by a threaded, or bayonet-style connection. Once installed on the reservoir, the cap is prevented from being easily removed by a child, due to child resistant features integrated in the design of the cap and reservoir. Also, a method of reducing friction between the sealing surfaces of a sealed container. Specifically between the reservoir, cap and seal of a container, which allows easier closing of containers which require a simultaneous compression and twist motion to close.

  • Publication number: 20030169680
Abstract: A protective enclosure for a cartridge for holding a data storage medium (such as an optical disk) includes a mating cover and base connected to one another with a live hinge having an axis of rotation. The cover contains a lip which surrounds all or part of an enclosure space within the enclosure. The lip mates with a recess in the base to keep dust and debris out of the protective enclosure. Clasps which extend from the cover and base, respectively, mate with each other to maintain the enclosure closed. A number of protrusions extend into the enclosure space and make contact with a data storage cartridge, thereby holding the cartridge in a defined position within the enclosure.
