Patent number: 11867726Abstract: A method of operating an oscilloscope is disclosed. The method comprises providing a bit stream comprising pseudo-random data to an oscilloscope across a data path characterized by sufficient signal degradation to prevent the oscilloscope from reliably triggering a sweep of an eye pattern based on receiving the pseudo-random data; inserting a predetermined sequence of bits into the bit stream at predetermined periodic intervals to open the eye pattern sufficiently during each of the periodic intervals to permit the oscilloscope to trigger the sweep of the eye pattern; and generating the eye pattern based at least in part on the pseudo-random data and excluding the predetermined sequence of bits from the sweep of the eye pattern. Oscilloscopes configured to trigger according to a predetermined system of bits at predetermined intervals are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2020Date of Patent: January 9, 2024Assignee: Micron Technology, Inc.Inventors: Daniel B. Stewart, Eric J. Stave, Matthew A. Prather

Patent number: 11737213Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods related to a printed circuit board (PCB) with a plurality of layers are described. An edge connector may be formed on an end of the PCB substrate and may include contact pins on an outer layer of the plurality of layers. The edge connector may also include an intra-pair coupling block disposed on one or more interior layers such that at least a portion of the intra-pair coupling block is colinear with at least one contact pin on the outer layer. The electronic device may also include at least one integrated circuit on the PCB and electrically connected to the contact pins. The intra-pair coupling component may induce coupling of signals carried by the contact pins.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2022Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: Micron Technology, Inc.Inventor: Daniel B. Patent number: 7421489Abstract: A network protocol distributes control and lookup functions among various network elements. Plural servers are permitted to service the same domain name without requiring re-mapping. Each client or server is permitted to have a different network quality of service level that is provided by one or more network elements of a network or server quality of service level that is provided by a server.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2000Date of Patent: September 2, 2008Assignee: Nortel Network LimitedInventors: Daniel B. Stewart, James M. Botte

Publication number: 20030120797Abstract: Apparatus and method to reassemble fragments of data packets are provided which minimized unaligned memory accesses. The second and subsequent fragments have an end of fragment (EOF) portion of the payload moved to before a start of fragment (SOF) portion such that only one unaligned memory access per fragment is required.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 26, 2001Publication date: June 26, 2003Applicant: AR CardInventors: Olivier Brodeur, David Bush, Mark W. Patent number: 6502129Abstract: A network adaptor having a first and second computer interface for connection to the administration and network interface of a computer is disclosed. The network adaptor further comprises a network interface for connecting the adaptor to a computer network. A processor forms part of the adaptor. The adaptor separates administration data from network data and exchanges administration data with the computer administration interface. Preferably, the computer network interface and the adaptor network interface comprise Ethernet interfaces. The administration interfaces are preferably serial ports. Preferably, the network adaptor has its own network identifier and offers network services such as a TCP/IP stack, and a higher level network service such as a TELNET, FTP or SNMP service. Adminstration data may be directed to the adminstration port by the service. The adaptor may also comprise environmental sensors and switches, which may monitor and control the operation of the attached computer.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1999Date of Patent: December 31, 2002Assignee: Nortel Networks LimitedInventors: Daniel B. Stewart, Paul Ramsden
