  • Patent number: 8821018
Abstract: Improved merchandise bag with reinforced bag wall is formed of thinner than normal specially selected film material with a thickened center section. For merchandise bags, the thickened center section provides a stronger bag bottom and stronger areas for the formation of bag handles. Handle bags include soft loop, round die cut oval die cut, wave top, patch and rigid handles. For T-shirt style bags, thinner plastic in the gusset and handle areas is made up for by multiple layers of film in these regions. T-shirt bags may have single, triple or folded gussets providing as many as eight layers of film in these regions. The thickened center section will substantially match the thickness of the gusseted areas and provide for a more easily stacked bag. The bags are formed of mono layer or multi-layer film and at least a portion of the bag walls is corona treated to improve adhesion.

  • Publication number: 20140233866
Abstract: A self opening bag includes front and real walls joined at their respective first and second side and bottom edges. The bag is folded at least once parallel to its side edges. At least one attaching feature is located on the outer surface of the bag adjacent the upper end and between the folded walls. The bag is releasably attached to a subsequent bag. The at least one attaching feature causes the bag to open as the bag is pulled from the subsequent bag. The once folded bag may be sealed at the bottom edges after folding to form a star-sealed bag bottom. The bags may be removably attached to each other at a perforation line and wound onto a compact roll for use with a bag dispenser. The bags may have an upper seam, a U-shaped cut and a pair of bag handles. The bags may be corona treated.

A core pin has first and second ends, is sized and shaped to fit slidably within the central core and has at least one notch that extends across one of the ends. First and second guide slots are sized, shaped and located to fit slidably about the ends of the core pin. At least one guide rail is located between outer edges of at least one of the guide slots and is sized and shaped to slidably engage the at least one notch. A bag stream guide, side constraints and a snagging hook are attached to the bag dispenser. • Publication number: 20130228954
Abstract: An apparatus for corona treating film includes a source of film material and at least one transport roller that is rotatably mounted in a frame. The transport roller has a longitudinal axis and has a width greater than the film. First and second treater heads have first and second leading edges, first and second trailing edges and are mounted parallel to the longitudinal axis. The second leading edge is parallel to and spaced from the first trailing edge by a second predetermined distance. The film is transported over the roller and a high voltage electric arc is provided to the first and second treater heads. The roller is grounded and provides a return path for the electric current provided to the first and second treater heads, thereby corona treating the front side or back side of the film if a second roller and third and fourth treater heads are used.
