  • Publication number: 20080183694
Abstract: A web site for publishing content for a plurality of users allows searching of the contact to be affected by the social network of the searcher. A user has a social network that is measured by the degrees of separation between the user and other users and groups. In other words, “friends of friends” are further separated than “friends”. This information is useful when search results are returned that include content published by other users. The degree of separation between the searcher and the other user is used to rank the search results.
