  • Publication number: 20170353236
Abstract: A method is presented for supporting SNCP over a packet network connecting to two SDH sub-networks and transporting one or more SDH paths that are SNCP-protected in both SDH sub-networks. The packet network connects to each of two sub-network interconnection points by a working path and a protection path. The packet sub-network may provide the same type of path protection as an SDH sub-network using SNCP, while avoiding bandwidth duplication.

  • Patent number: 9820115
Abstract: Notification methods and devices are described. In notification method, a notification template corresponding to a notification is generated. The notification template can be provided to a docking system connected to a communication device. A notification control signal that corresponds to the notification template can be generated. The docking system is controlled to present the notification in response to the notification control signal. The docking system presenting the notification can use one or resources of the docking system based on the notification template.

  • Publication number: 20170286356
Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to methods, system and apparatus to optimize Quality of Service (QoS) for communications using Medium Agnostic Universal Serial Bus (MA USB) protocol. In one embodiment, assignment of specific QoS parameters for certain Endpoint is triggered by the platform running MA USB host once a specific usage model occurs. Once triggered, MA USB Host engages an MA USB Hub or Device in a two-way handshake to communicate QoS parameters. The two-way handshake includes transmitting an Update Endpoint Quality-of-Service (QoS) Request frame to the selected Endpoint Handles at the MA USB Device; and receiving an Update Endpoint QoS Response from the MA USB Device.

  • Patent number: 9769320
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for dynamically signaling encoder capabilities of vocoders of corresponding communication nodes. In one embodiment, during a call between a first communication node and a second communication node, a control node (e.g., base station controller or mobile switching center) for the first communication node sends capability information for a voice encoder of a vocoder of the first communication node to a control node for the second communication node. As a result, the second communication node is enabled to select and request a preferred encoder mode for the voice encoder of the vocoder of the first communication node based on the capabilities of the voice encoder of the vocoder of the first communication node.

  • Patent number: 9736250
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system for non-network controller communication. In general, an example wireless network may comprise a network controller (NC) device and at least one network member (NM) device. The at least one NM device may respond to inquiries received from outside-of-network (OoN) devices by providing at least an NC device name in a user-friendly form. This information may be provided via a new information element (IE). Should the at least one NC device later receive a service discovery request (e.g., from the OoN device), the at least one NC device may determine whether services it may provide are currently unavailable, and may then transmit a service discovery response including at least unavailable service information. In at least one embodiment, service discovery responses may also include information about current consumers of the unavailable services.

  • Publication number: 20160381728
Abstract: Wireless access management techniques for wirelessly-accessible devices are described. In one embodiment, for example, at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium may comprise a set of instructions that, in response to being executed on a computing device, cause the computing device to identify a connection request of a mobile client based on a received connection establishment message, determine whether the connection request comprises an automatic connection request based on request attribute information contained in the connection establishment message, and in response to a determination that the connection request comprises an automatic connection request, generate a prompt for a confirmation that the connection request is to be granted. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20160182369
Abstract: Devices and techniques for reorder resilient transport are described herein. A device may store data packets in sequential positions of a flow queue in an order in which the data packets were received. The device may retrieve a first data packet from a first sequential position and a second data packet from a second sequential position that is next in sequence to the first sequential position in the flow queue. The device may store the first data packet and the second data packet in a buffer and refrain from providing the first data packet and the second data packet to upper layer circuitry if the packet order information for the first data packet and the second data packet indicate that the first data packet and the second data packet were received out of order. Other embodiments are also described.
