  • Publication number: 20240162736
Abstract: A method for controlling a charging signal for charging a rechargeable battery cell, which is based on a dynamic electrochemical model using a functional or tabular relation for computing a maximum charging value for the charging signal. During charging, constraints of a constraint model are satisfied for a charging signal smaller than or equal to this maximum charging value. A battery cell not at an end-of-charge condition is charged with a closed-loop charging method, repetitively performing: i) measuring measurable signal(s) of the battery cell, ii) estimating state variable(s) of the model using a state observer algorithm, with the measured measurable signal(s) as input, iii) computing the maximum charging value using the functional or tabular relation with the estimates of the state variable(s) as input, and iv) applying to the battery cell a charging signal equal to or lower than the maximum charging value. Also, a charging device implementing the method.

  • Publication number: 20060178309
Abstract: The present invention relates to the purification and production of human albumin from various sources through crystallization and repeated crystallization. Basic features of the invented process include providing specific reaction conditions and precipitating reagents to maximize albumin crystallization. Solubility diagrams are utilized as the basis for process control of the invented method. The current invention specifically controls phosphate concentration, pH and temperature to precisely guide crystallization kinetics and crystal yield.

  • Publication number: 20050260672
Abstract: Processes and apparati are provided for separating molecules of interest from a mixture containing them which comprises subjecting the mixture to an improved method of tangential flow filtration (TFF). The improved TFF was used to clarify, and process various feedstreams for the removal of a molecule of interest. According to a preferred embodiment, a transgenic milk feedstream is stabilized and particulate matter such as fat, casein miscelles and bacteria are removed. The method of TFF used in the current invention utilizes optimized process parameters that include temperature, transmembrane pressure, cross-flow velocity, and milk concentration. Cleaning and storage procedures were also developed to ensure long membrane life. An aseptic filtration step was also developed to remove any bacteria remaining in a clarified transgenic milk feedstream.
