  • Patent number: 5800058
Abstract: A vortex elimination device, suitable for insertion into a container of liquid, includes an upper end cap, a lower end cap, and a plurality of longitudinally extending vanes connecting the upper and lower end caps. Each of the plurality of vanes has first and second longitudinal edges extending between the upper and lower end caps. The vanes together define a treatment area where the first edge is proximate the treatment area and the second edge is distal from the treatment area. The first edge of each of the plurality of vanes terminates at an open space and is positioned at an angle where the angle is measured between each of the plurality of vane's centerline and a line drawn tangent to the upper and lower end caps where the second edge of each of the vanes and the upper and lower end caps connect. The plurality of vanes can be movably connected to the end caps to permit the angles for the plurality of vanes to be varied.

  • Patent number: 5769360
Abstract: A system for seating and transporting physically challenged individuals to and from commercial transport vehicles is disclosed. The system utilizes the aisle seat of the commercial transport vehicle for both seating and transporting the passenger. Modifications are made to both the aisle seat and the adjacent seat in order to provide a system capable of being detached while meeting all the safety and strength properties of the original seats. The present invention provides a very efficient and humane method of transporting physically challenged individuals from their wheelchairs to commercial transport vehicles as well as providing and efficient method of transportation when connections are necessary.

  • Patent number: 4645112
Abstract: An automatic drilling and riveting machine comprising a frame having a main body portion and having a front end portion disposed in a first plane, means for defining a drilling and riveting axis in the frame closely adjacent and substantially parallel to the first plane, and a ram and clamp assembly carried by the frame for holding a workpiece relative to the frame in a second plane substantially perpendicular to the first plane during drilling and riveting and for applying force for heading a rivet inserted in the workpiece. A transfer assembly carried by the frame main body portion selectively moves a drilling means and a rivet inserting and forming means each into and out of positional alignment with the drilling and riveting axis and when in such alignment toward and away from the workpiece for drilling a rivet-receiving hole in the workpiece and for inserting a rivet in the hole and forming a head on the inserted rivet in co-operation with the holding and force applying means.
