  • Publication number: 20240007956
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for application aware cellular radio activation/deactivation, e.g., in 5G NR systems and beyond. The UE may receive, while operating in a power savings mode in which a cellular modem of the UE is disabled, inputs associated with an application of the UE. The UE may determine, based on the inputs, to activate the cellular modem to support the application of the UE. The inputs may include an indication of an application state or status, an indication of an application category, an indication of a state or status of an AI assistant of the UE, an indication of whether an application is a session application, an indication of network assertions, an indication of proximity information, an indication of a WiFi state or a WiFi status, and/or indications associated with one or more timers.

  • Patent number: 10764827
Abstract: A device, system, and method uses a high power mode for a cellular connection. The method is performed at a device that is configured to establish a network connection to a network. The method includes detecting a number of at least one event that has occurred over a time period, the at least one event associated with operations used through the network connection, the at least one event indicative of a power to perform the operations that is greater than a predetermined power. When the number is at least a predetermined threshold, the method includes identifying the network connection as being in a high power state. The method includes activating settings when the network connection is in the high power state, the settings reducing a usage of the operations over the network connection.

  • Patent number: 10198326
Abstract: In some implementations, a system can intelligently restore data to a user's computing device. For example, the system can prioritize data to be restored to a user device based on the data that the user is most likely to use. The system can restore high priority data items first while delaying restoration of low priority data items. The system can control when data restoration is performed based on device conditions. For example, the device conditions can include how much of an energy budget and/or data budget remains for downloading data to the user device. The device conditions can include the thermal condition (e.g., how hot) of the user device. If device conditions do not allow for downloading data at a particular time, then the device can delay downloading data until the device conditions allow for downloading and/or restoring the data.
