  • Publication number: 20150252740
Abstract: A method is provided for operating a piston engine in an airplane in an emergency operating mode, in which a minimum power output of the piston engine is ensured in that an emergency operating mode is activated that is as much as possible independent of measured values of respective sensors provided for an operation of the piston engine, in which the measured values of the sensors are substituted with firmly specified values. A corresponding airplane is provided as well as to an emergency operation control unit for carrying out the provided method.

  • Patent number: 8855841
Abstract: A method for operating an electric vehicle, the electric vehicle having an electric motor and a brake device, and the electric motor and the brake device being capable of being influenced by a control device. When the electric vehicle is at a standstill, when there is an error of the control device, the brake device is actuated so that the electric vehicle cannot move, or at least can move only to a very limited extent.

  • Patent number: 8589017
Abstract: In a method for determining the torque of an internal combustion engine of a motor-vehicle hybrid drive device which further includes a secondary electric motor coupled to the internal combustion engine, the torque of the internal combustion engine is determined at at least one operating point by comparison to the known torque of the secondary motor.

  • Publication number: 20120081221
Abstract: In a vehicle, e.g., a hybrid vehicle, having an electrical device, which has an inadmissibly high voltage for being touched by a person, a signaling sensor configured to respond in the event of an accident is connected to a warning device for signaling the voltage level.

  • Publication number: 20110196596
Abstract: A method for preventing a water impact in an internal combustion engine includes: detecting whether water has entered an air supply system of the internal combustion engine; and stopping the internal combustion engine if it is determined that water has entered.

  • Patent number: 7877193
Abstract: A method for operating a shutoff device for a device, in particular an internal combustion engine and/or an electric machine, in which an operating element for initiating a shutoff operation is provided, and in which a transmission path is provided via which a shutoff signal is transmitted from the operating element to the device in order to deactivate the device. The shutoff device is checked for proper functioning at least in part automatically, by automatically transmitting a shutoff signal, in particular from the operating element via the transmission path to the device.

  • Publication number: 20100330853
Abstract: In recreational boats, multiple drive units, e.g., multiple outboard motors, Z-drives, or jet drives, are often provided to propel the boat, at least one of the drive units having a propulsion reversal function for executing a reverse propulsion. To facilitate execution of a turning maneuver with a boat in an extremely tight space, and to ensure that even an unskilled person is able to reliably execute such a turning maneuver, it is provided that the drive units be activated automatically for executing the turn on the spot as a function of a command for turning. The command may be made via a switch, which is operated by the driver of the boat. One drive unit is then operated automatically in propulsion reversal mode, and the other drive unit is operated in propulsion mode. The power of the drive units is then controlled in such a way that the instantaneous efficiency of the drive units operated during turning is taken into account.
