  • Publication number: 20240068364
Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein include sidewall coring tools used to return core samples of rock from a sidewall of a wellbore as part of a data collection exercise for exploration and production of hydrocarbons. In particular, the systems and methods presented herein perform sidewall coring of a subterranean formation using a combination of rotary and percussive coring. More specifically, the systems and methods presented herein rotate a coring cylinder of a sidewall coring tool back and forth less than a full rotation while pushing the coring cylinder of the sidewall coring tool against a bore wall of a wellbore, and push the coring cylinder of the sidewall coring tool into the subterranean formation to enable extraction of a core sample of the subterranean formation.

  • Publication number: 20230212944
Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein include sidewall coring tool assemblies used to return core plugs of rock from a sidewall of a wellbore as part of a data collection exercise for exploration and production of hydrocarbons. A coring bit and a coring shaft of the present disclosure allow space for cuttings to move away from the bit face when drilling into a formation. In addition, certain embodiments include a plurality of inlets disposed circumferentially on an external surface at a first axial end of the coring shaft, a plurality of internal grooves disposed on an internal surface of the coring shaft, and/or a plurality of fins disposed on the external surface to direct flow of drilling and debris away from the coring bit. In addition to providing more space for cuttings to move away from the coring bit, the torque needed to drive the bit is lessened as the surface area of the bit contacting or engaging the formation is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20230113798
Abstract: Example implementations relate to subscription fulfillment costs. Some examples include a non-transitory machine-readable medium containing instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to determine a cost to deliver a first size of the consumable based on a supply production cost of the first size and a fulfillment cost of the first size, determine a cost to deliver a second size of the consumable based on a supply production cost of the second size and a fulfillment cost of the second size, determine a cost of consumable waste of the first size based on a received cancellation risk, the cost to deliver the first size, and the cost to deliver the second size, and determine a cost of consumable waste of the second size based on the cancellation risk, the cost to deliver the first size, and the cost to deliver the second size.
