  • Patent number: 7401321
Abstract: An apparatus for processing data relating to software defects operates within an on-line analytical processing environment that includes an on-line analytical processing presentation tool (60). An on-line analytical processing cube model builder (32) builds a plurality of interrelated tables (22) with on-line analytical processing cube model metadata (30). The cube model (30) is configured to be processed by the associated on-line analytical processing presentation tool (60). A data extraction tool (36) communicates with a defect tracking database (10, 12) containing said data relating to software defects. The data extraction tool (36) extracts said data from the defect tracking database (10, 12), transforms the extracted data into the software defect entries, and loads the software defect entries into the tables (22).

  • Publication number: 20070061287
Abstract: A method, apparatus and program storage device for optimizing a data warehouse model and operation. Incoming queries issued against a data warehouse having a table join optimized by using a new query reroute technique. The reroute technique also enables data warehouse users to use the standard query-reroute technology to optimize SQL queries issued against a data warehouse that involves recursive hierarchies.

  • Publication number: 20050283488
Abstract: Various embodiments of a method, apparatus and article of manufacture for optimization of a multidimensional model in a model based performance advisor are disclosed. The multidimensional model comprises groups. Each group has one or more levels. One or more recommended slices associated with the groups are determined based on a focus region.

    Inventors: Nathan Colossi, Daniel DeKimpe
  • Publication number: 20050283494
Abstract: Various embodiments of a method, apparatus and article of manufacture for graphically visualizing and manipulating a multidimensional OLAP model are provided. Data describing a multidimensional model is retrieved. The multidimensional model comprises a plurality of groups. Each group has one or more levels. The levels have a hierarchical order. Sets comprising one or more level indicators are displayed. Each set is side-by-side to at least one other set. Each set is associated with one group of the plurality of groups. The one or more level indicators of each set are associated with the one or more levels of the associated group, respectively. The one or more level indicators of each set are displayed in accordance with the hierarchical order of their associated levels. A visual indicator associated with a subset comprising one or more level indicators of each set is displayed.
