  • Patent number: 5862462
Abstract: A satellite is formed with a signal translation and amplification system which includes at least one communication path. Each communication path includes a plurality of radiation-cooled TWTs powered by a single EPC. Also included in the communication path is a high efficiency radiation panel capable of transmitting heat generated by said TWTs and EPC into space; as well as a radiating collector which is directly applied to each TWT, and is capable of transmitting heat generated by said TWT into space.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 12, 1996
Date of Patent: January 19, 1999
    Assignee: Space Systems/Loral, Inc.
Inventors: Randall D. Tyner, Donald C. Briggs, Daniel E. Collins, William R. Avellino

  • Patent number: 3966626
Abstract: Heat transfer agents containing at least about 20 volume percent of diphenyl oxide and at least 20 volume percent of diphenylyl phenyl ether, polyphenyl ether or mixtures thereof have been found to be excellent heat transfer fluids with an unexpectedly broad range of liquidity.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 17, 1973
Date of Patent: June 29, 1976
    Assignee: The Dow Chemical Company
Inventors: Larry L. Jackson, Walter F. Seifert, Daniel E. Collins
  • Patent number: 3931028
Abstract: The well-known heat transfer fluid consisting essentially of the eutectic mixture of diphenyl oxide and biphenyl is improved by the addition thereto of monomethyl- or monoethylbiphenyl. The resulting fluids have very nearly the same boiling point and heat stability as the binary eutectic but have substantially lower freezing points.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 23, 1973
Date of Patent: January 6, 1976
    Assignee: The Dow Chemical Company
Inventors: Larry L. Jackson, Walter F. Seifert, Daniel E. Collins
