Abstract: Valves for maintaining brake cylinder pressure in freight car brake equipment are provided. A valve includes a first diaphragm defining a first side and a second side, and a second diaphragm defining a first side and a second side. The valve further includes a first port for receiving pressure from one of an emergency reservoir or a control volume, the first port in fluid communication with the first side of the first diaphragm; a second port for receiving pressure from a brake pipe, the second port in fluid communication with the second side of the first diaphragm; and a third port for receiving pressure from a brake cylinder, the third port in fluid communication with the second side of the second diaphragm.

Abstract: A plastic cover for a container including a central cover plate having a peripheral flange in a U-shaped cross-section having outer and inner arms connected by a joining portion, the inner arm being integral with the central cover plate, the peripheral flange adapted to snap onto a complementary rim of the mouth of a container, the joining portion of the peripheral flange including a slot around substantially the entire periphery of the cover and defining two opposite lips; a plurality of integral tab-spots spaced around the length of the slit and connecting the two lips; a gripping tab integral with the inner arm; and hinge segments integral with the two lips at locations on the cover substantially opposite the gripping tab.

Abstract: A package and applicator for dispensing a product from a flexible closed tube having a weakened zone in one end is shown. A one-piece application unit is attached by a U-shaped portion whose legs are connected to the edges of the tube at the weakened zone end. The unit has a flexible spatula disposed facing the weakened zone and a cogged wheel for breaking the weakened zone. The wheel is attached on one side to said zone and on the other side to the inner face of the U-shaped base portion. Rotation of the cogged wheel opens the weakened zone and detaches it from the base portion, with the consequence that pressure on the flexible tube will deliver the product onto the spatula for application.
