  • Patent number: 10669451
Abstract: A roof structure comprises a roof membrane and a roof substrate. A first surface of the roof membrane is adhered to the roof substrate by a two component adhesive, the adhesive being capable of adhering the first surface of the roof membrane to the roof substrate without the use of a high VOC solvent. The two component adhesive includes a Michael donor and a Michael acceptor, and the Michael donor and the Michael acceptor react to form an adhesive film.

  • Publication number: 20170204283
Abstract: A coating composition for forming a barrier membrane (16) on an exterior wall (10) of a building includes a fluid mixture of water, a binder, and at least about 3 wt % of an alcohol. After spreading the mixture on the exterior wall (10), at least the binder forms the barrier membrane (16). A method of applying a membrane (16) composition to an exterior wall (10) of a building includes providing a first mixture including at least about 82 wt % of an alcohol, providing a fluid composition including a binder and water, mixing the first mixture and the fluid composition to form a second mixture having alcohol in an amount of at least about 3 wt %, and spreading the second mixture on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4849268
Abstract: A membrane type liquid containment system such as a membrane roof, pond liner and the like is disclosed wherein a large membrane is formed by adhering together individual membrane sheets at lap seams or field splices. The field splice includes a primary adhering seal formed by a splicing cement. The splice also includes a thick bead of a sealant applied between the overlapped edges. This seal acts to form a secondary or redundant seal in the field splice whereby any failure in the splicing cement or primary bond does not cause failure. A method of forming this seal is also described which permits application of the lap sealant after the cement has been applied while the cement is developing body or strength.
