Patent number: 11972624Abstract: A delivery system may include a pallet wrapper system having a turntable, a camera directed toward an area above the turntable, and a stretch wrap dispenser adjacent the turntable. A computer receives images from the camera of multiple sides of a pallet loaded with packages on the turntable. The computer stitches images from different sides of the stack of packages that correspond to the same package. At least one machine learning model may be used to infer SKUs of each package. Optical character recognition may be performed in parallel on the images. The determination of the SKU of each package may be based upon the inferred SKUs and on the OCR.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2023Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Rehrig Pacific CompanyInventors: Peter Douglas Jackson, Robert Lee Martin, Jr., Daniel James Thyer, Justin Michael Brown

Patent number: 10973232Abstract: Potassium bicarbonate is coated with an anionic or amphoteric surfactant, which is preferably a metal soap, such as calcium stearate, to inhibit caking on storage, and premature loss of carbon dioxide when mixed with acidulant, e.g. in a baking powder or self-raising flour blend. Loss of carbon dioxide in the blend may be further inhibited by coating the acidulant with surfactant. Combination of surfactant coating with an inorganic anti-caking agent such as silicon dioxide gives synergistic protection against caking of the potassium bicarbonate. Preferably the bicarbonate has D50 of between 35 and 200? and is free from particles greater than 400?.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2018Date of Patent: April 13, 2021Assignee: Kudos Blends Ltd.Inventors: Daniel James Brown, Diana Jordan

Patent number: 10969141Abstract: A water heating apparatus includes: a water container configured to heat water via a convection process by receiving the water through an inlet and passing water through an outlet; and one positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heating element or a plurality of PTC heating elements arranged within the water container and configured to be immersed during the convection process. The plurality of PTC heating elements have a gap between each PTC heating element. Further, the water heating apparatus includes at least one ultrasonic transducer attached to the water container and configured to project ultrasound onto and around the PTC heating element or the plurality PTC heating elements within the water container and to descale the PTC heating element or the plurality of PTC heating elements.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2018Date of Patent: April 6, 2021Assignee: NGB INNOVATIONS LLCInventors: Robert Norman Nelson, Daniel James Brown, Antony Howard Gaynair

Publication number: 20200352177Abstract: A leavening composition which gives an enhanced leavening and reduced use of acidulants comprises (1) an alkali metal bicarbonate, (2) at least 0.1 and preferably at least mole per mole of bicarbonate of a precipitant which is a water-soluble alkaline earth metal salt, and (3) optionally an acidulant, wherein (2) and (3) are present in a total amount from 105 to 800% of the stoichiometric amount that would be required to react fully with (1) in a boiling aqueous solution. In a preferred embodiment the acidulant forms a water insoluble calcium or magnesium salt and is sufficient to provide more than 0.105 g replaceable hydrogen per 100 mmol bicarbonate, and the precipitant is a water soluble calcium or magnesium salt which is capable of precipitating or complexing with said acidulant and is present in an amount sufficient to provide a final pH below 6.5 when the leavening agent is heated in a bakery mix, which allows the inclusion of an effective amount of a preservative.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2020Publication date: November 12, 2020Inventor: Daniel James Brown

Patent number: 5790115Abstract: In association with an interactive television system, a system for displaying a control object in which characters may be entered or edited via a character spin dial. Each character and empty space in which a character may be entered is displayed in a separate cell within the control object. Each cell accepts entry or editing of characters therein via a character spin dial. The character spin dial is displayed to the user as an up arrow and a down arrow displayed above and below the cell, respectively. By manipulating a directional control on a remote control associated with the interactive television network in the up or down position, the user scrolls the character spin dial through a list of selectable characters until the desired character is displayed in the cell.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1995Date of Patent: August 4, 1998Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Sven Pleyer, Edwin Thorne, III, JoGene Kapell, Steven Roren Wallace, Daniel James Brown
