  • Patent number: 8519830
Abstract: A system and method of lighting protocol and architecture to control lighting parameters, consisting of an X-byte data packet with command, addressing, Hue, Saturation, and Intensity selection, and fading control whereby commands set a remote device state with no need for a constant stream of data, each fixture computing its own parameters. Management of a lighting fixture is done with its own local controller having light management thus eliminating the need for the central controller to handle a magnitude of lighting fixtures. The central controller sending only commands for state changes, eliminating the need for continuous computation and command transmission to all fixtures within its realm. The remote controller manages transitions from one state to another after a command.

  • Patent number: 8513905
Abstract: A method of using an algorithm to generate themed lighting selections suitable for use in holiday, themed, or party lighting. The algorithm using pseudo-random number generators to select values for a color-capable lighting system to generate animated scenes to fit a particular envisioned theme via defining parameters. Parameters to include such items as lists of light fixture selection within a zone, groups or single fixtures, also color selection from a list of color ranges, intensity selection, fade delay, and dwell delay. Lists and/or ranges can have an associated bias that is used to determine how probable it is to be selected.

  • Patent number: 8189008
Abstract: A method and apparatus whereby a two-dimensional touchpad control for selecting color is implemented via a touch sensitive surface with a graphical attachment on its surface to select both an intensity and a color. The graphical attachment having two regions, one region being a rectangular shape to select the intensity via a Y-axis and the other being a two dimensional X/Y-axis control surface with color Hue on one axis and color Saturation on the other axis. Software running in a control device monitors touchpad regions for user inputs and converts the raw selected parameters on the touchpad into the Hue, Saturation and Intensity information, used in the preferred embodiment to control light fixture color and intensity.
