Abstract: There are described methods, systems, and techniques for performing automated drilling of a wellbore. The wellbore is drilled according to one or more drilling parameter targets associated with one or more corresponding drilling parameters. A controlling drilling parameter of the one or more drilling parameters is determined to be outside a threshold window. In response to determining that a stringer has been encountered, one or more controlled drilling parameter targets of the one or more drilling parameter targets are updated. The controlled drilling parameter targets comprise a revolutions per minute (RPM) target and weight-on-bit (WOB) target.

The apparatus carries out the method by establishing a telephone call between first and second customer premises equipment and generating, at the first customer premises equipment, a frequency shift keyed message containing a network resource locator. The FSK message is then transmitted from the first customer premises equipment to the second customer premises equipment during the telephone call and is received at the second customer premises equipment.

The system includes a modified ring access server for producing a modified ring access message including a first network resource locator, a central office service unit for producing a modified ring access connection message including the first network resource locator, in response to the modified ring access message and for representing the modified ring access connection message by an FSK message, a central office switch operable to establish a connection to the subscriber telephone in response to the modified ring access connection message and for transmitting the FSK message to the subscriber telephone, a first network resource operable to provide the file to the subscriber telephone and a remotely configurable subscriber telephone operable to receive the FSK message and to download the file from the first network resource in response to the first uniform resource locator.
