Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a lateral portion of a manufactured building having a support beam, comprising a ground member for being received on a ground surface and a joist bracket attached to at least one joist in a lateral portion of the manufactured building. A pivotably attached joist tube disposed in a first position between the ground member and the joist bracket is longitudinally movable to a second position for bearing forcibly therebetween and thereby supporting the lateral portion of the manufactured building. A method of supporting a lateral portion of a manufactured building having a support beam is disclosed.

Top jaw (42) has engaging portion (47) on distal end (46) including arcuate bearing surface (49) for bearing against I-beam top flange distal edge (81) responsive to tension in anchor strap (30) such that clamp (40) aligns with anchor strap (30) when anchor strap (30) is not perpendicular to longitudinal axis (79) of flange distal edge (81). Strap (30) attaches to bottom jaw (52) which clamps clamp (40) to I-beam flange (76).

Lower portions 30 of members 20 are connected by bolt 40 such that tightening bolt 40 tilts members 20 and binds channels 24 on flange 83. Upper end 76 of foundation arm 70 is pivotally connected to bolt 40 between members 20. Thus, tightening single bolt 40 attaches foundation system 50 to beam 80.
