Publication number: 20240118291Abstract: The invention provides methods of diagnosing autism spectrum disorders (ASD) by identification of altered metabolic characteristics in such subjects. By measuring concentrations of metabolites in a sample, such as a blood or plasma sample, from a subject, changes in the activity of specific metabolic pathways can be identified. In turn, ASD subjects can be classified based on metabolic defects. Thus, the methods allow healthcare professionals to provide patient-specific guidance on a course of treatment for individuals who have or are at risk of developing ASD.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2020Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: Alan M. Patent number: 10521204Abstract: A compiler may perform type checking as part of analyzing source code. The type checking may include existential type packing for structurally-restricted existential types. At compile time, the compiler may need to use an existential type that does not conform to the language's structural rules. The compiler may apply the “pack” operation described herein to produce a supertype of the desired existential type that does conform to the language's structural rules, and thus can be used as an approximation of the desired type. The compiler may then perform additional type checking using the resulting type.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2016Date of Patent: December 31, 2019Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventor: Daniel L. Publication number: 20090010643Abstract: Component malfunctions in passive optical networks (PON) can increase bit error rates and decrease signal-to-noise ratio in communications signals. These faults may cause the receivers of the signals, either the optical line terminal (OLT) or optical network terminals (ONTs), to experience intermittent faults and/or may result in misinterpreted commands that disrupt other ONT's communication, resulting in a rogue ONT condition. Existing PON protocol detection methods may not detect these types of malfunctions. An embodiment of the present invention identifies faults in a PON by transmitting a test series of data patterns via an optical communications path from a first network node to a second network node. The test series is compared to an expected series of data patterns. An error rate may be calculated as a function of the differences between the test series and expected series. The error rate may be reported to identify faults in the PON.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 6, 2007Publication date: January 8, 2009Inventors: David A. DeLew, Vinita Gupta, Bernardus F. Egberts, Daniel L. Smith, Paul A. Henderson, Edward J. Sackman, Michael J. Wurst

Patent number: 5193152Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing for arbitrary definintion of groups in a data communication network management system. Groups are added, modified, merged, deleted or displayed as desired by the user so that all members of the arbitrarily defined group can be addressed as a group, for example to do a self test and report results. Collectives can be defined as members of the group and the collectives can be unpacked at the time of issuance of a command rather than at the time of creation of the group so that changes to the collective are reflected as changes to the group automatically. Provision is made for creating groups which are commonly desired and significant group configuration activity is logged to either a printer or a file.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1992Date of Patent: March 9, 1993Assignee: Racal-Datacom, Inc.Inventor: Daniel L.
