Patent number: 9050360Abstract: A vapor compression thermal control system having at least one electrically powered evaporator fan and an apparatus for preventing compressor overloading apparatus having a sensor that measures temperature of air entering the evaporator. That measured temperature is compared with at least one predetermined temperature setting to activate a predetermined evaporator blower on/off duty cycle when the measured temperature exceeds the predetermined temperature. Alternatively, the apparatus can have a sensor that measures temperature of air being used to cool the condenser, and that measured temperature is then compared with at least one predetermined temperature setting to activate a predetermined evaporator blower on/off duty cycle when the measured temperature exceeds the predetermined temperature. In either case, it is evaporator air flow that is modulated when the system is operated as a heat pump. For liquid cooled evaporators, however the circulation pump instead of the fan is modulated.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2010Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Inventors: Robert P. Scaringe, Gregory S. Publication number: 20140337111Abstract: A method and associated systems for rewarding online advocates. The invention identifies a primary advocate as a person or entity that endorses or advocates a product or service. The invention then automatically detects, tracks, and analyzes characteristics of the advocate's act of advocating the product or service to recipients. The invention also tracks the primary advocate's conversions, which occur when the primary advocate's act of advocating influences a recipient into advocating a product or service. The invention then automatically rewards the primary advocate as a function of characteristics of the primary advocate's influence and of the primary advocate's ability to convert recipients.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2013Publication date: November 13, 2014Applicant: International Business CorporationInventors: Karl J. Patent number: 8391176Abstract: Systems, methods, and software are described for benchmarking the location determination capabilities of a wireless communications network. A mobile communications device is configured to receive data identifying a reference location for the device. A communications network, communicatively coupled with the mobile communications device, calculates a computed location for the device using an alternative location determination technique. The reference location and computed location may be determined for any number of additional devices, as well. The accuracy and reliability of a system may then be assessed by comparing one or more computed locations with associated reference locations. The latency attributable to the calculation of one or more computed locations may also be determined.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2010Date of Patent: March 5, 2013Assignee: TechnoCam CorporationInventors: Sekhar Kota, Todd Crick, Michael Dunn, Mario Proietti, Khaled Dessouky, Daniel A.
