  • Patent number: 8792138
Abstract: A method that includes receiving an image, automatically determining at least one region of interest in the image based on at least one color deficiency type from a plurality of color deficiency types, modifying the image by correcting the at least one region of interest and producing an output of the modified image.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 8, 2012
Date of Patent: July 29, 2014
    Assignee: Lexmark International, Inc.
Inventors: Aaron Jacob Boggs, Scott Timothy Cramer, Matthew Ryan Keniston, Rodney Evan Sproul, Daniel Lee Thomas, Lane Thomas Butler
  • Publication number: 20130201495
Abstract: A method that includes receiving an original image containing color pels; analyzing a placement of the color pels; and altering the placement of the color pels by applying at least one pattern on the color pels and creating a new image.

  • Patent number: 8371576
Abstract: A media sheet stacking implement for an image forming apparatus according to one example embodiment includes an exit nip formed by a first exit roller and a second exit roller for advancing media in a media process direction along a media path and delivering the media to an output bin of the image forming apparatus. A pinching element is mounted along the media path downstream from the exit nip. The pinching element has at least one first member and at least one second member movable relative to the at least one first member between a closed state and an open state. An actuating mechanism is operatively coupled with the pinching element for moving the pinching element between the closed state and the open state to allow the pinching element to hold a trailing end of a media sheet to be delivered to the output bin when in the closed state.

  • Patent number: 8235376
Abstract: A removable input tray assembly for an image forming device according to one embodiment includes a media tray having a bottom surface and a wall extending upward from the bottom surface. The bottom surface defines a media storage location for storing a stack of media sheets. The assembly further includes a housing having an opening therein to receive the media tray. An inclined media dam is formed in the wall and has a media contact surface for directing media advanced from the media storage location. A channel is provided in the wall and extends the height of the wall for directing media passing therethrough. A roller nip is formed in the channel within the media tray by a pair of rollers for advancing media through the channel.

Date of Patent: August 7, 2012
    Assignee: Lexmark International, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6167948
Abstract: A heat spreading apparatus includes a first planar body for attachment to a heat generating surface which results in a hot region and a cool region on the first planar body. A second planar body connected to the first planar body is used to define a void between the first planar body and the second planar body. The void includes a planar capillary path and a non-capillary region. A fluid positioned within the void distributes heat by vaporizing the fluid from the planar capillary path in the hot region, condensing the fluid in the non-capillary region in the cool region, and moving from the non-capillary region to the planar capillary path in the hot region through capillarity.

  • Patent number: 6158502
Abstract: A heat spreading apparatus includes a body with an interior surface defining a void. The interior surface includes randomly configured high aspect ratio micro surface capillaries. Preferably, the micro surface capillaries are intergranular and intragranular capillaries that are less than 200 microns and have an aspect ratio of at least 1:1. All horizontal and vertical surfaces of the interior surface include the high aspect ratio micro surface capillaries. The high aspect ratio micro surface capillaries promote fluid transport and heat transfer.
