  • Patent number: 11788873
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses and systems for providing dehumidification providing dehumidification for gas detecting components are disclosed herein. An example apparatus may comprise: a flow sensing component configured to detect a flow rate associated with a flowing media in a flow channel of the apparatus; and a controller component in electronic communication with the flow sensing component that is configured to receive a flow rate indication from the flow sensing component, and in response to determining that the flow rate indication satisfies a null condition threshold, apply an exponential smoothing function with a variable alpha value to condition an output signal of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8912272
Abstract: The invention relates to a moisture resistant composition comprising: a) from 20 to 80 weight percent based on the total weight of the composition of a polyetherimide copolymer made from a monomer mixture comprising 3,3? bisphenol-A dianhydride (BPADA), and 4,4?-diaminodiphenyl sulfone (DDS); b) from 5 to 75 weight percent based on the total weight of the composition of polyetheretherketone (PEEK); and c) from 0 to 30 weight percent based on the total weight of the composition of a filler. The invention relates to a reflector substrate comprising a moisture resistant layer metalized with a reflective layer, wherein the moisture resistant layer comprising the moisture resistant composition. The invention relates to a method for producing a metalized coating without a primer comprising applying a reflective layer directly to a moisture resistant layer in the absence of a primer, wherein the moisture resistant layer comprises the moisture resistant composition.

  • Publication number: 20140063831
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and compositions of polycarbonate blends having, among other characteristics, improved heat resistance. The resulting polycarbonate blends, comprising a first polycarbonate comprising structural repeating units derived from bisphenol acetophenone and optionally a second polycarbonate polymer comprising structural repeating units derived from bisphenol A, can be used in the manufacture of articles while still retaining the advantageous physical properties of blended polycarbonate compositions with improved heat resistance. The disclosed polycarbonate blends optionally comprise one or more polycarbonate blend additives. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 7645851
Abstract: A method of making polycarbonate includes the steps of forming polycarbonate by a melt transesterification method using an activated diaryl carbonate, and compounding the polycarbonate with a phosphorus-containing compound that has an abstractable proton or hydrolyzable group. The phosphorus-containing compound is compounded with the polycarbonate in an amount sufficient to result in an improvement in the color properties of the polycarbonate as compared to pellets formed from the same polycarbonate without addition of the phosphorus-containing compound.

  • Patent number: 7541420
Abstract: A method for preparing a molded article includes the steps of (a) obtaining a polycarbonate resin and (b) molding the polycarbonate resin. The polycarbonate resin is made by a transesterification reaction using an activated diaryl carbonate such that the polycarbonate is susceptible to the formation of internal ester linkages (IEL). The method occurs with the proviso that the polycarbonate resin, the molding conditions or both are selected to control the amount of IEL formed during the molding process to a level of less than 0.4 mol %.
