  • Patent number: 7447494
Abstract: The invention relates to a secure wireless authorization system by which a user can employ a wireless device to authorize a request that is initiated by a remote third party and transmitted to the user by an authorization server. The system includes the authorization server that is linked to the third party by way of a communications connection and a wireless device that is adapted to securely store an encryption scheme and create a secure authorization from the user in response to the third party request and has the ability to establish a secure wireless connection over which the secure authorization is transmitted from the user's wireless device to the authorization server. Pre-authorization, real-time authorization and post-authorization methods are disclosed by which user authorized transactions can be completed by way of the authorization system of this invention.

  • Patent number: 7249823
Abstract: A fluid ejection device, a method and an operation method thereof are disclosed. The fluid ejection device includes a substrate, a beam and an activation pad. The substrate has an orifice, and the beam includes a fixed portion and a cantilever portion and is disposed over the substrate, wherein the cantilever portion is disposed over the orifice. Furthermore, the activation pad is disposed between the cantilever portion of the beam and the substrate. Because the fluid ejection device of the present invention is fabricated by using micro-electromechanical technology, and therefore it possible to obtain a fluid ejection device capable of ejecting the fluid from the orifice at a high-speed and also the quantity fluid ejected can be very small.

  • Patent number: 7185357
Abstract: A method and system for implementing access control in a computer system is disclosed. Synonyms associated with shareable security policies and policy functions are employed to encapsulate data from underlying data sources. By controlling access and contents of synonyms and their underlying security policies, fine-grained access control can be implemented for system data sources.

  • Publication number: 20040139043
Abstract: A method and apparatus for attribute relevant access control policies is provided. According to one embodiment, a determination is made as to whether to modify a query based on which attributes of a database object are referenced in the query. Further, if the query references one or more attributes of the database object that are restricted, the query may be modified based on attribute restriction metadata. According to another embodiment, users are restricted from accessing data from the restricted attributes by masking the data before returning it to the users. According to yet another embodiment, certain data from restricted attributes may be masked before returning it to users while other data from restricted attributes may be returned without modification.

  • Patent number: 4244374
Abstract: A focussing solar collector is described including a solar-radiation reflector and a solar-radiation absorber disposed to receive the solar-radiations directly and those reflected from the reflector, characterized in that the reflector is of a cylindrical configuration having a semi-circular cross-section of constant radius of curvature, and that the absorber is of flattened cross-section having a height of from 0.1 to 0.5 times the radius of curvature of the reflector and a width substantially less than its height, the absorber being disposed within the reflector with one end of the absorber at the mid-point of the reflector inner surface and with the height axis of the absorber aligned with the reflector radius from said mid-point. In the described preferred embodiment, the absorber is a flattened pipe for conducting therethrough a heat-transfer fluid medium to be heated by the solar radiation, the flattened pipe having a height:width ratio in the range of 2.5:1 to 3.5:1.
