  • Publication number: 20240169842
Abstract: A method for operating a motorcycle in a formation of motorcycles. Vehicles are detected in a rear area behind the motorcycle and a formation membership of the detected vehicles in the formation is determined. Rear-area information is provided for a driver of the motorcycle via a human-machine interface of the motorcycle. The rear-area information describes the formation membership for at least one of the detected vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20070253713
Abstract: Solar blind ultraviolet communication systems can provide short to medium range non line-of-sight and line-of-sight links which are covert and insensitive to meteorological conditions. Operation in the solar blind region provides zero background conditions and strong scattering interactions. Scattering provides the basis for transferring information when non line-of-sight conditions exist. Zero background conditions are a result of strong absorption of solar radiation in the upper atmosphere. These conditions make it possible to operate very sensitive wide field-of-view quantum noise limited photon counting receivers, and provide communication systems that perform very differently than free space optical systems that operate in other spectral regions. These systems may be compact and require very low primary power for operation. Non line-of-sight ultraviolet communication systems can provide reliable inter-nodal communications for unattended ground sensor networks.

  • Patent number: 4098616
Abstract: A recirculating exhaust hood for a dishwasher may be comprised of an exhaust duct, a positive pressure plenum, a negative pressure plenum, and a fan for circulating air from the communicating dishwashing cavity through the positive and negative pressure plenums, and the exhaust duct. Air drawn through the intake of the fan is circulated through the positive pressure plenum to a supply slot. High velocity air exiting from the supply slot to a contiguous intake port of the negative pressure plenum creates a high velocity stream of air which by entrainment or by Venturi effect draws warm moisture laden air from the dishwashing cavity into the negative pressure plenum. The entrained moist warm air is then recirculated to the positive pressure plenum by means of the fan. A portion of the output of the fan is directed to an exhaust duct and removed from the dishwashing system.
