  • Publication number: 20230364770
Abstract: A power tool with an ergonomic handgrip includes a housing with a rear end portion, a first front end portion, a second front end portion, and lateral sidewalls. A working end proximate the first front end portion is configured to be driven by a motor. A handle has a proximal portion coupled to the housing, a distal end portion away from the housing, a rear wall portion, a front wall portion, and a pair of sidewalls, and defines a handle axis. A trigger is coupled to the handle and defines a trigger axis. A first gripping region includes a rear concave recess on the rear end portion and a lateral concave recess extending along at least one of the lateral sidewalls generally parallel to the tool axis. A second gripping region is on the rear wall portion of the proximal portion of the handle. • Publication number: 20210078089
Abstract: A post 22D may be disposed between holders 22H. Post 22D preferably does not extend from panel 22 as much as holders 22H. Post 22D may have a protrusion 22DD. Pushstick 70 may also have a detent or protrusion 70D extending therefrom. Preferably protrusion 70D moves past protrusion 22DD as pushstick 70 is moved along posts 22HP. Protrusions 70D and 22DD may contact, preventing pushstick 70 from moving along panel 22. Persons skilled in the art will recognize that protrusions 70D and/or 22DD may engage notches in panel 22 and/or pushstick 70, respectively. Persons skilled in the art will recognize that the interaction of protrusions 70D and/or 22DD can be used instead or in conjunction with the friction-based retaining arrangement, i.e., where friction is created between narrow area 71N and post 22HH, discussed above. Holders 22H and/or post 22D are preferably integrally molded with panel 22. Accordingly, pushstick 70 may be held unto the panel 22 without requiring any additional parts.

  • Patent number: 10350744
Abstract: An ergonomic handle for use with a power tool defines a first region that includes a switch, adapted to receive a thumb and forefinger when the forefinger is actuating the switch, a second region adapted to receive a middle finger, a third region adapted to receive a ring finger; and a fourth region adapted to receive a pinky finger. Each of the second, third, and fourth region includes a generally oval cross section having a major axis and a minor axis. The longest major axis is in the third region, the shortest major axis is in the fourth region, the shortest minor axis is in the second region, and the longest minor axis is positioned in the fourth region.

  • Publication number: 20150151424
Abstract: A power tool with an ergonomic handgrip includes a housing, a motor in the housing, a working end coupled to a front end of the housing, a handle extending distally from the housing, and a trigger coupled to the handle. The housing defines a tool axis, the handle defines a handle axis, and the trigger defines a trigger axis in its direction of movement. A first gripping region includes a rear concave recess on a rear end of the housing and a lateral concave recess along a lateral sidewall of the housing parallel to the tool axis. A vertical line extending from an innermost point of the rear concave recess intersects the trigger axis forward of where the trigger axis intersects the handle axis. A second gripping region includes a convex surface on a rear portion of the handle with an elliptical curvature having an eccentricity less than 0.5.
