  • Publication number: 20240107229
Abstract: A smart speaker power controller may be configured to receive power conforming to one of a plurality of power modes from an input power source. The power controller may be further configured to communicate the power mode to at least one component of a processing system or at least one component of an audio system for operating the smart speaker according to the received power mode, including determining a current limit of a power converter; determining a shutdown voltage threshold and safely shutting down the smart speaker if the input voltage falls below the threshold, and/or modifying audio operation of the smart speaker in response to the power mode. The smart speaker can further include an audio power supply controller configured to monitor energy required to reproduce an audio signal and to servo a power supply voltage provided to an audio amplifier in response to this energy level.

  • Patent number: 10140312
Abstract: A low latency metadata subsystem for file systems in low latency (LL) mode in a distributed file storage service (DFSS). An LL server (LLS) may receive metadata requests from an access node of the DFSS. For read operations, the LLS may check a local cache of metadata and, for cache hits, retrieve the metadata from the cache. For cache misses, the metadata may be fetched from the storage subsystem of the DFSS and cached. For write operations, the LLS may write entries into a journal for the file system and notify the access node after the journal entries are committed to the journal; the journal entries are asynchronously committed in the storage subsystem. The access node may communicate with the storage subsystem to perform data reads and writes for the LL file system.

  • Publication number: 20060123156
Abstract: Producers and consumer processes may synchronize and transfer data using a shared data structure. After locating a potential transfer location that indicates an EMPTY status, a producer may store data to be transferred in the transfer location. A producer may use a compare-and-swap (CAS) operation to store the transfer data to the transfer location. A consumer may subsequently read the transfer data from the transfer location and store, such as by using a CAS operation, a DONE status indicator in the transfer location. The producer may notice the DONE indication and may then set the status location back to EMPTY to indicate that the location is available for future transfers, by the same or a different producer. The producer may also monitor the transfer location and time out if no consumer has picked up the transfer data.
