Publication number: 20020026025Abstract: The present invention relates to a soybean-based adhesive resin including a soybean flour and a cross-linking agent. The cross-linking agent is reacted with the functional groups in the soybean flour to form an adhesive resin. The present invention also relates to a method of making a soybean-based adhesive resin. This method involves providing an aqueous solution of soybean flour and adding a cross-linking agent to the solution under conditions effective to cross-link the soybean flour so that an adhesive resin is formed. Also disclosed is a composite product which includes particulate plant material and the soybean-based adhesive resin. The adhesive is prepared by reacting the cross-linking agent with the functional groups in the soybean flour. A second elongate member has a proximal and a distal end with a lumen extending therebetween. The lumen is sized to slidably receive a portion of the first elongate member. An expandable delivery device is mounted to the distal end of the second elongate member and is movable from a radially retracted position to a radially expanded position. Patent number: 6270465Abstract: An apparatus for exchanging over-the-wire balloon catheters engages a guide wire within a guide catheter. In one embodiment the engagement is by an inflatable balloon in the guide catheter. Alternatively, the engagement is accomplished by a captivation wire in the guide catheter that has a collapsible loop portion through which the guide wire extends. Inflation of the balloon or closing the loop portion of the captivation wire within the guide catheter traps the guide wire and restricts its movement relative to the guide catheter. Once the guide wire position is fixed, withdrawal of a first balloon catheter and subsequent introduction of a second balloon catheter over the guide wire is possible without moving the guide wire longitudinally. A pressure source for a balloon catheter including a barrel with a plunger inside it. The barrel is in fluid communication with the inflation lumen of the catheter and has an internal volume less than 5 cc and an internal diameter of less than 0.25 inches. A pressure sensor may be connected to the barrel with a sensor tube defining a fluid path from the interior of the barrel to the pressure sensor.
