  • Patent number: 11935342
Abstract: Activation of an automatic driving feature in a vehicle is detected by evaluating sequential vehicle operation data against subtractive and additive heuristic rules that define a likelihood of an automatic driving feature having been engaged as a function of vehicle performance. The sequential vehicle operation data, which does not include an explicit indication of whether the automatic driving feature was engaged, is provided for time intervals of a trip made by the vehicle. Automatic driving information is generated, which provides an indication of whether the automatic driving feature was engaged during a subset of the time intervals.

  • Patent number: 11918275
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of adapting energy modality due to a short circuit or tissue type grasped in the jaws of an end effector of a surgical instrument. The method includes selecting an electrode in an array of segmented electrodes during a pre-energy activation cycle. The method includes applying a sub-therapeutic electrical signal to the selected electrode to differentiate between a shorted electrode and low impedance tissue grasped in the jaws of the end effector. The method includes determining the selected electrode is shorted based on a measured electrical parameter received by the control circuit after applying the sub-therapeutic electrical signal and blending monopolar and bipolar RF energy. The method includes determining that the selected electrode is shorted and switching output energy of the RF generator between monopolar and bipolar RF energy.

  • Patent number: 8553034
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention includes a data communication subsystem to receive a data stream, and a data processing subsystem responsive to the data communication subsystem to generate a visualization output based on a group of data vectors corresponding to a first portion of the data stream. The processing subsystem is further responsive to a change in rate of receipt of the data to modify the visualization output with one or more other data vectors corresponding to a second portion of the data stream as a function of eigenspace defined with the group of data vectors. The system further includes a display device responsive to the visualization output to provide a corresponding visualization.

  • Patent number: 4812990
Abstract: A system and method for determining the optimal path for an aircraft to fly from a first position to a second position so that the aircraft heading at the second position is within preselected minimum and maximum heading limits. A two-dimensional reference grid is constructed so that the first position is in the center cell of the first rank of the grid and the second position is adjacent to the center cell of the last rank thereof. Dynamic programming techniques are used to determine the possible flight paths between the first and second positions and to select the path of minimum cost as the optimal path. The possible flight paths are constructed by identifying the possible connections between the last rank and the second postion and then between each pair of adjacent ranks, working backward from the last rank to the first position, which is located in the first rank. A possible connection is deemed to exist when the aircraft can fly from one point to a target point (e.g.
