  • Publication number: 20080208873
Abstract: A method for receiving, processing, and responding to requests relating to educational degree, enrollment, transcript, and loan information via secured and non-secured channels. In a disclosed embodiment, a requestor submits an order to verify degree or enrollment information consisting of a student's first name, last name, and/or social security number. A computer at a Clearinghouse matches the order with data compiled from participating educational institutions and generates a response. Enrollment information can include both current attendance and historical information. Optionally, degree information can be maintained in a separate database. Requestors can also order up-to-date student transcripts via the Clearinghouse.

  • Publication number: 20040197761
Abstract: A method for receiving information requests pertaining to educational degrees, enrollment, transcripts and loan information and providing same results over both secured (112, 118, 122, 126) and non-secured (110, 120, 124, 128) channels. The requester completes a request order for the student desired degree (110) or enrollment (14), and enters only a small subset of the information required to complete the request, such as the student's last name, first name and social security number (316). A computer and database located at the Clearinghouse (100) attempts to match that request with those data compiled from participating institutions and extracts the order for the requester. Requesters can retreive a database of student enrollment information (114) that has both a historical component (314) as well as current attendance information (312).
