  • Patent number: 11187923
Abstract: A visual perception device is described. The visual perception device has corrective optics for viewing virtual and real-world content. An insert for the corrective optics is attached using a magnetic set, pins and/or a nose piece. Interchangeable nose pieces allow for height adjustments to accommodate different users. The visual perception device has pliable components to absorb forces exerted on a nose piece and a protective barrier for limiting electric shock or ingress of dirt.

  • Patent number: 11180233
Abstract: A combined paddle and pump can be used to propel a small boat. The handle telescopes with a locking nut that may be loosened to allow extension and retraction of the handle. The handle is hollow throughout and a pair of check valves are provided. One check valve opens when the handle is extended and the other opens when the handle is retracted. When one check valve is open, the other is closed. When the distal end of the paddle is placed within a volume of water, extension and retraction of the handle results in a liquid first being sucked into the hollow interior of the handle and then propelled out of the handle.

  • Publication number: 20210270686
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for sensing impacts applied to an article during a production and transportation process. The systems and methods can include a plurality of impact sensors fixed to the article and a processor coupled to the plurality of impact sensors. Each impact sensor can be fixed to the article at a corresponding sensor location and the plurality of impact sensors can be configured to generate a plurality of impact measurements in response to an impact applied to the article. The processor can be configured to: receive the plurality of impact measurements from the plurality of impact sensors; determine, from the plurality of impact measurements, that an impact condition is satisfied; determine an impact location based on the plurality of impact measurements and the corresponding sensor locations; and determine an overall impact magnitude based on the impact location and the plurality of impact measurements.

The handle is hollow throughout and a pair of check valves are provided. One check valve opens when the handle is extended and the other opens when the handle is retracted. When the distal end of the paddle is placed within a volume of water or exposed to atmospheric, extension and retraction of the handle results in a fluid first being sucked into the hollow interior of the handle and then propelled out of the handle. A seal assembly prevents debris from binding tubes of the handle.

  • Publication number: 20210231951
Abstract: An augmented reality system includes a light source configured to generate a virtual light beam. The system also includes a light guiding optical element, the light guiding optical element is transparent to a first real-world light beam, wherein the virtual light beam enters the light guiding optical element, propagates through the light guiding optical element by total internal reflection (TIR) and exits the light guiding optical elements. The system also includes a lens disposed adjacent and exterior to the surface of the light guiding optical element. The lens is configured with a gradient tint that transmits less real-world light at a world side top portion of the lens and transmits more real-world light at a world side bottom portion of the lens, wherein rainbow artifacts, generated from inadvertent diffraction of the overhead real-world light by the light guiding optical element, is minimized.

  • Publication number: 20210162449
Abstract: There is provided a turf cup assembly that attaches to a buried pop-up type sprinkler to blend a top of sprinkler both cosmetically and functionally with turf surrounding the sprinkler. The turf cup assembly includes a turf cup and a sleeve. The turf cup mounts to a riser of the pop-up type sprinkler. The turf cup contains soil and root structure of turf. The sleeve surrounds the turf cup and attaches to a top of a housing of a pop-up sprinkler. The sleeve can be at or slightly below grade, and the cup extends out of the sleeve during an irrigation cycle and retracts into the sleeve at the end of the irrigation cycle.

  • Publication number: 20200335958
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a connector device suitable for making an inter or intra static electrical energy converter connection. The device includes at least two flat conductors and at least one insulating material. The said method includes: preparing each flat conductor individually; applying at least one coat of enamel varnish to each conductor, which is thinner than a desired final thickness; carrying out cross-linking of the enamel coating; and repeating the depositing of a layer of enameling resin and the cross-linking until the chosen thickness is reached. The varnish coated conductors of the connector device are assembled by using a template and connecting elements.

  • Publication number: 20200291492
Abstract: Provided is a method comprising (a) providing a hydrolysis composition of at least 20 wt % of sugar equivalents, wherein the hydrolysis composition comprises a first oligosaccharide, water, optionally a soluble aromatic compound, (b) contacting the hydrolysis composition with a catalyst in a first reactor to hydrolyze at least a portion of the first oligosaccharide to form a first product composition comprising a first monosaccharide and a second oligosaccharide, (c) separating the first monosaccharide from the first product composition to form a second product composition comprising the second oligosaccharide, wherein at least a portion of the second oligosaccharide is a reversion sugar, and (d) converting via a further hydrolysis step at least a portion of the second oligosaccharide to form a third product composition comprising a second monosaccharide.

  • Patent number: 10758833
Abstract: Four embodiments or variations of launcher apparatus storing either one toy car, two toy cars, eight toy cars or ten toy cars are disclosed. As a safety feature a flex member is used to block toys or other objects that are not properly configured to deflect the flex member. If the flex member is not deflected and the object inserted will not push an ejector rearward from a relaxed position to a cocked position. When a proper toy is inserted, the ejector moves rearward and stretches a spring that supplies launch energy to the ejector and the toy. The flex member is also designed to allow the ejector to deflect the flex member when the ejector is snapped back from the cocked position to the relaxed position. A safety lock is mounted to the housing for preventing operation of the trigger mechanism when the launcher apparatus is not disposed on a surface.
