  • Publication number: 20240115197
Abstract: A system and method of monitoring sobriety using a hand-held breath testing device that, on receipt of a user's breath, generates a breath test signal comprising substance content data and user identification data, and wirelessly transmits the breath test signal to a breath test signal receiving station.

  • Patent number: 11386522
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for correcting distortion in a camera lens. The methods can include receiving at least one image of a calibration object, in which the image is captured via the camera lens and the lens has lens distortion. The methods can further include fitting a plurality of geodesics in the image; determining at least one connection equation for the plurality of geodesics; and determining a metric based on the connection equation, the metric comprising a first distorted radial coordinate. The methods can further include determining an undistorted radial coordinate based on the first distorted radial coordinate; determining a second distorted radial coordinate as a function of the undistorted radial coordinate; inverting the undistorted radial coordinate; and generating an undistorted image based on the inverted undistorted radial coordinate.

  • Publication number: 20090328198
Abstract: A computer-readable stored median has stored thereupon a program for performing a method of generating, storing, accessing, retrieving and displaying a plurality of records such as in an electronic device. The electronic device may include a data entry mechanism and a keyboard and may further include a processor, a memory, and a display. The method compromises the steps of generating and saving a master passcode in the memory and generating a record such as an account identification, a user ID and a password, and saving the record in the memory. The method further comprises the steps of generating a user ID for storage in the memory and generating and storing the password corresponding to the user ID in the memory. Access to the memory is provided by entering the master passcode for retrieval of the records.

  • Publication number: 20070249952
Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring EEG signals include dry electrodes that can be used in sleep monitoring systems. In one aspect, a system for sleep stage monitoring and measurement includes a first dry electrode for detecting EEG signals of a user, a housing, and a sleep stage processor disposed within the housing. The first dry electrode is positioned at or near a head of the user. The sleep stage processor processes the EEG signals to determine a sleep stage of the user.

  • Publication number: 20060293608
Abstract: A device and a method for waking a user in a desired sleep state. The device may predict an occurrence when the user will be in the desired sleep state, such as light sleep, and wake the user during that predicted occurrence. In one embodiment, a user may set a wake-up time representing the latest possible time that the user would like to be awakened. The occurrence closest to the wake-up time when the user will be in light sleep may be predicted, thereby allowing the user to sleep as long as possible, while awakening in light sleep. To predict when the user will be in the desired sleep state, the user's sleep state may be monitored during the night or sleep experience and the monitored information may be used in predicting when the user will be in the desired sleep state.

  • Publication number: 20060253386
Abstract: In one aspect, the invention comprises entering into an agreement with a borrower to provide a loan of a specified amount on a specified date, wherein the agreement further specifies a fixed rate and a spread; and on the specified date specifying whether the borrower must pay a fixed coupon at the fixed rate or pay a floating coupon based on the spread. In another aspect, the invention comprises an agreement between a lender and a borrower whereby the lender provides to the borrower a loan of a specified amount on a specified date; a fixed rate and a spread are specified; and the borrower receives the specified amount on the specified date, and during the term pays, at lender's option to be specified on the specified date, either a fixed coupon at the fixed rate or a floating coupon at a floating rate based on the spread.
