  • Patent number: 7914284
Abstract: A dental filing tool and method for use includes providing a unitary injection-molded handle with integral finger pads, indicia markings, and an abrasive filing strip embedded into the handle vertical arms; inserting the tool between teeth to cut and file restorations; and, disposing after use. A method for making a dental filing tool is provided, including the steps: selecting a strip; providing the strip with abrasive means; providing the strip with mounting holes; providing an injection mold with a horizontal and first and second vertical arm channels, each of the vertical arm channels having flattened opposing outer edges to form integral finger pads; and, first and second mounting pins spaced distally to hold the strip in tension; mounting the strip onto the pins within the mold; injecting plastic by injection molding means to form the dental filing tool; cooling the dental filing tool until resilient; and, removing the filing tool.

  • Patent number: 6482152
Abstract: An instrument for broaching and dilating an incision of soft tissue in a tunnel-like shape, the instrument stretches and supports tissue to allow the insertion and passage materials, and comprises a handle, and one or more arched plate members.

  • Patent number: 6135637
Abstract: A plastic trash sack having series of vertical air slots made up of fine perforations on upper portions of both sack walls that break open from stress of compression to allow excess air inside sack to discharge to outside atmosphere. The discharge of air facilitates sack to compact upon its self and flexible trash contents within, further minimizing sack volume and continually maximizing receptacle holding capacity for the duration which compression is generated by weight of other sacks or applied by persons.

  • Patent number: 5175887
Abstract: An absorbent headband is provided which includes a resilient inner frame and one or more absorbent outer covers. The outer cover is generally tubular, and closed at each end. The outer cover is provided with a slot for removably inserting the inner frame member into the interior of the outer cover. A method is provided for absorbing perspiration which includes the steps of providing a resilient inner member which is generally u-shaped, providing a tubular outer cover, inserting the inner member into the outer cover, and placing the headband on the head of the wearer. The method may also include the steps of removing the inner member from the outer cover and inserting it into a second outer cover which may be dry, or of a different color as desired.

  • Patent number: 4670982
Abstract: An open bottom housing containing motor driven cutting blades is placed on the head and the hair if drawn up into the housing and through the cutting blades by an upward air flow through the housing. This air flow is produced by a suction connection at the top of the housing actuated by an ordinary vacuum cleaner. A plurality of feet around the bottom opening rest on the scalp to provide an air inlet for the upward air flow.

  • Patent number: 4655223
Abstract: A frenotomy is performed by first injecting an infiltrating anesthesia between the superficial tissue of the frenum and the underlying muscles, the anesthesia thereby undermining the frenum and separating the superficial tissue from the underlying muscles. The undermined frenum tissue is then crimped with an instrument having crimping jaws pierced by adjacent longitudinal scalpel guide slots and two rows of adjacent suture guide holes bounding the slots. As the frenum is crimped, the slots are aligned such that a scalpel passing through, and along, the length of the slots, will sever the crimped frenum at the desired location. Prior to severing the frenum, opposing sides of the crimped frenum bounding the incision site are sutured by passing a suturing needle through the suture guide holes. The frenum is then severed between the resulting rows of sutures by passing a scalpel through, and along the length of, the adjacent scalpel guide slots. The instrument is then removed.

  • Patent number: 4643677
Abstract: An elongated straight handle portion has a cylindrical plugger element on each end thereof. Each plugger element has a 45.degree. bend adjacent the end of the handle and a 90.degree. bend adjacent the distal end of the plugger element. Protruding laterally from the apex of each 90.degree. bend is a burnishing element. The burnishing element on one end of the handle is ball shaped and the burnishing element on the other end is cone-shaped.
