  • Patent number: 11087616
Abstract: An approach is provided for recommending services based on map-based dynamic location sampling. The approach, for instance, involves determining a predicted location of a vehicle on a road segment based on an estimated time of arrival at an end node of the road segment. The approach also involves calculating a difference between the predicted location and an actual location sensed by a location of the vehicle. The approach further involves recommending a service for installation on or near the road segment based on the difference.

  • Publication number: 20210209664
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods related to determining medical services appropriate to a patient in response to a patient lifecycle event: presenting the medical services to the patient for selection; optionally scheduling the selected medical services; and automatically presenting the selected services for prepayment. The patient lifecycle event may be, for example, a doctor's order, diagnosis, condition change, payment, admission, or discharge. The services presented to the patient may be determined in response to, and as a function of, the lifecycle event. For example, the services presented may include procedures determined after the lifecycle event, in view of patient medical history. In an illustrative example, the services presented may be based on medical indication, contraindication, provider or facility availability, or patient scheduling preference, advantageously permitting more medically relevant, beneficial, convenient, or cost-effective services.

  • Publication number: 20210190319
Abstract: A combustion chamber with a jacket arranged around a principal axis of the combustion chamber, a ceramic tube that is arranged inside the jacket, wherein an intermediate layer is arranged between the jacket and the ceramic tube. The jacket is at least partially conical. The ceramic tube is under axial stress in the jacket along the principal axis. The ceramic tube is an assembly of multiple heat shield segments. The heat shield segments each have a hot side that is designed to come into contact with a hot medium, a cold side that is opposite the hot side and is oriented toward the jacket, and a circumferential rim between the hot side and the cold side. In the cold state, individual heat shield segments of a segment row have, on the rim, bearing surfaces that the adjoin the cold side and gaps that open toward the hot gas side.

  • Publication number: 20210154387
Abstract: A sorbent canister utilized when performing a dialysis treatment during hemodialysis (HD) or peritoneal dialysis (PD) is provided. The sorbent canister includes inlet and outlet ports that include a threaded interface for connection to inlet and outlet tubes for circulation of dialysate through the sorbent canister. Upon disconnection from a dialysis machine, a pressure relief cap can be threaded onto the threaded interface to seal the fluid in the sorbent canister while allowing for off-gases to be expelled when a pressure within the sorbent canister exceeds a threshold pressure, thereby preventing a rupture in the canister body. In one embodiment, the pressure relief cap includes a deformable insert with a hole formed therein that is closed in an uncompressed state and opened in a compressed state. In another embodiment, the pressure relief cap includes a diaphragm that mates with a feature of the inlet or outlet port.

  • Patent number: 10918828
Abstract: Medical fluid tubing described herein is configured to be advantageously tolerant of kinking and/or crushing. That is, the tubing is configured such that even if the tubing is kinked or fully compressed at least some portion of the lumen defined by the tubing will remain open, and some fluid will continue to flow through the tubing. Such kink and compression tolerant medical tubing can be advantageously used in association with medical fluid pumping systems (e.g., peritoneal dialysis systems and the like). In some examples, the tubing described herein is used in conjunction with, or as a part of, a medical fluid cassette that interfaces with such medical fluid pumping systems.
