  • Patent number: 10571047
Abstract: Provided is a microtrencher having a utility avoidance system that detects objects buried under the roadway, identifies whether the buried object is a utility and determines whether the buried utility is in the path of the cutting wheel. If the buried utility is in the path of the cutting wheel, an alert is sent to the operator, the vehicle is stopped, and/or the cutting wheel is raised in relation to the roadway. Also provided is a method of using the microtrencher to cut a microtrench in a roadway and to avoid cutting a buried utility in the path of the cutting wheel.

  • Patent number: 10426106
Abstract: Systems and methods for assessing a field of plants for irrigation having program code to acquire at least one thermal image of a field having a plurality of plants thereon; generate a thermal map of the field from the thermal image providing a thermal value for a plurality of geographically referenced locations in the field; measure at least one weather parameter for the field; calculate a water stress value for each of the plurality of locations using the weather parameter and the thermal value; and estimate a water property value for each of the plurality of locations using the water stress value and a predetermined correlation of the water stress value and the water property value. Thus, the system leverages high-resolution aerial thermal imagery to estimate plant stress with the advantage of obtaining estimates of the water property value, such as the stem water potential (SWP), potentially for every plant in a field, thereby providing a more powerful tool for irrigation scheduling.

  • Patent number: 9266448
Abstract: An adjustment mechanism, particularly for the longitudinal adjustment of a seat of a motor vehicle, with a transmission housing (30) fastened at a first part (10), which is displaceable in reference to a second part (12), with a transmission being arranged inside the transmission housing (30). A spindle (40) projects from the transmission housing (30). The spindle (40) is coupled via a nut element (50) to a second part (12). The transmission housing (30) is made from plastic, with at least one repeatedly angled metal insert (60, 70) being embedded in the plastic. At least one wall (60b) of the metal insert (60, 70) is aligned orthogonal in reference to the axis (A) of the spindle and at least partially encompasses the spindle (40) on the side of the transmission housing (60) allocated to the nut element (30).

  • Patent number: 9242579
Abstract: A seat rail for a motor vehicle seat includes a lower rail, which can be connected to a motor vehicle, and a spindle, which is arranged on the lower rail in a rotationally fixed manner by a spindle retainer. The spindle retainer is fastened to the lower rail by a fastening element extending through a fastening opening on the spindle retainer and a fastening opening on the lower rail. In order to provide a seat rail having a lower rail on which rotation of the spindle retainer is largely precluded, in particular in the event of a threaded floor connection extending through the spindle retainer, the fastening openings and/or the fastening element has a cross-section deviating from a circular shape, preferably a polygonal cross-section, in a connection section arranged in the region of the fastening openings.
