  • Patent number: 10052435
Abstract: An active agent or drug injecting device (10) includes a main housing (16) containing a trigger mechanism (24) which can be manually activated via release bar (32) or remotely triggered via wireless receiver (70) activating motor (74), and a second housing (80) containing an injection- and needle-assembly (22). The needle (30) encloses a dry carrier (26) having an active agent (12) disposed thereon. The trigger mechanism triggers the injection assembly to propel the needle into the skin (via spring (54)), to inject the active agent into a living organism (either by letting the active agent diffuse out of the needle or by actively flushing it out), and to subsequently retract the needle back into the housing (80) (via spring (64)).

  • Patent number: 9821116
Abstract: A fluid dispensing device is provided for dispensing a measured amount of fluid into a living organism. The device has a needle having a first end and a second end. The needle is adapted for interfacing, on the first end, with a septum of a flexible hollow membrane, and at a second end thereof, for subcutaneously inserting into a living organism. The needle is guided by a guide to permit an injection into the living organism at a substantially non-orthogonal angle with respect to a surface of the living organism. The first and second ends of the needle pierce their respective piercing surface while translating together in a common direction. In other embodiments, the dispensing device includes a main housing, a flexible fluid reservoir, an injection assembly and a trigger mechanism. The main housing houses the operative components of the device.

  • Patent number: 9821113
Abstract: An infusion set adapted to be secured to a skin surface includes a fixed base member connectable to the skin surface and a movable member. A needle or cannula is connected to the movable member and movable relative to the fixed base member. The movable member is movable from a first position in which the needle or cannula is not exposed externally of the fixed base member to a second position in which the needle or cannula is exposed externally of the fixed base member. A release member retains the movable member in the first position. Removal of the release member allows movement of the movable slide member to the second position.

  • Patent number: 9539020
Abstract: A surgical apparatus comprises a body, an ultrasonic transducer, a shaft, and an end effector. The ultrasonic transducer is operable to convert electrical power into ultrasonic vibrations. The body comprises a pivotal trigger. The shaft couples the end effector and the body together. The end effector comprises a clamp arm and an ultrasonic blade in acoustic communication with the ultrasonic transducer. The ultrasonic blade is operable to deliver ultrasonic vibrations to tissue. Pivotal movement of the trigger causes movement of the clamp arm. The shaft is operable to be selectively coupled and decoupled from the ultrasonic transducer. The apparatus comprises electro-mechanical means for coupling and decoupling the shaft from the ultrasonic transducer, and may further comprise means for preventing movement of the shaft as it is coupled to the ultrasonic transducer.

  • Publication number: 20160259913
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure include a transponder for determining a characteristic of a dose delivery device. The transponder may include a first sensor configured to detect a first parameter of the dose delivery device based on movement of at least one of the dose delivery device or a medicament contained within the dose delivery device, wherein the first sensor is configured to generate a first signal indicative of the first parameter. The transponder may include a processor operably coupled to the first sensor and configured to process the first signal. The transponder may include an indicator unit operably coupled to the processor and configured to generate an output based on the first signal, wherein the output is perceivable by a user. The transponder may also include a battery configured to provide power to at least one of the first sensor, the processor, and the indicator unit.
