  • Patent number: 10364781
Abstract: A quick fit connector is disclosed for the return line of fuel injectors in an internal combustion engine. The connector includes a T- or L-shaped connector body having at least one connection branch insertable in a fuel return port of a fuel injector, a lower plate, an upper plate and a spring clip. The upper plate is slidingly mounted on the spring clip and the connector body and is movable between an unlocked position, in which the spring clip is in unloaded condition and free from any engagement with the fuel injector, and a locked position in which the spring clip is in loaded condition and engages the fuel injector and the lower plate.

  • Patent number: 10184417
Abstract: In a fuel injection system a high-pressure fuel pump is arranged to deliver fuel into the fuel rail, a first valve is disposed at the inlet of the high-pressure fuel pump, and a second valve is disposed in a return line that fluidly connects the fuel rail to a fuel tank. An electronic control unit is configured to monitor a value of a parameter indicative of a fuel quantity injected into the engine, monitor a value of an engine speed, and operate the first valve to allow a first fuel flow to be delivered from the high-pressure fuel pump into the fuel rail and contemporaneously operate the second valve to discharge a second fuel flow from the fuel rail, if the monitored value of the parameter indicates that no fuel is injected into the engine and the monitored value of the engine speed exceeds a predetermined threshold value thereof.

  • Patent number: 9970377
Abstract: A method and controller provide a corrected standard characteristic curve for a fuel injector to inject fuel into an internal combustion engine. A minimum fuel injector energizing time is determined where a predetermined parameter based upon a plurality of fuel injector energizing times and a plurality of master fuel injector energizing times is a minimum. An energizing time correction value is the difference between a reference energizing time and the minimum energizing time. The standard characteristic curve is corrected based on the energizing time correction value.

  • Publication number: 20160377011
Abstract: A method and control apparatus configured to correct a standard characteristic curve of a standard fuel injector of an internal combustion engine. First and second injected fuel quantity corresponding to an energizing time which is higher than a reference energizing time are determined from the standard characteristic curve. A standard fuel quantity increment is calculated as the difference between the second and first injected fuel quantities associated to the reference energizing time.

  • Publication number: 20160215742
Abstract: A unit pump for use in a combustion engine is disclosed, as well as a method for assembling said combustion engine. The unit pump includes a tappet interacting with a crankshaft or camshaft for providing the fuel injection. The tappet includes first fixing sections interacting with a fastener to position the tappet relative to the cylinder or engine housing of the combustion engine when assembled.
