  • Publication number: 20240021303
Abstract: An apparatus for treating benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, BPPV, comprises at least a processing unit and a feedback mechanism. The processing unit is configured to receive data indicative of a manoeuvre carried out by a user and to compare the received data to data indicative of a predefined manoeuvre for treating BPPV, and the feedback mechanism is configured to provide feedback to the user in accordance with the result of the comparison between the received data and the predefined manoeuvre. In some embodiments the feedback may be provided as audio output, for example in the form of intelligible speech descriptive of a similarity and/or a difference between the manoeuvre carried out by the user and the predefined manoeuvre. A corresponding method and computer program for performing the method are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11633142
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a device and method of obtaining an electrocardiogram for a subject. The method comprises receiving electrical signals from at least two head-mounted sensors; and analysing said electrical signals to resolve shape and timing information for each of the P-, Q-, R-, S-, and T-waves available for the subject over a number of cardiac cycles, to derive a composite electrocardiogram, ECG, in which the composite electrocardiogram is derived using signals only from said head-mounted sensors.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 18, 2018
Date of Patent: April 25, 2023
    Assignee: IMPERIAL COLLEGE INNOVATIONS LIMITED

  • Patent number: 10463309
Abstract: A dual modality sensor comprises a tissue-contact electrode having a first surface configured for receiving an electrical signal from a user's tissue when attached thereto; and a mechanical sensor overlying the cutaneous electrode and configured to sense a mechanical displacement of the first surface through the electrode. The electrode and the mechanical sensor thereby provide electrical and mechanical signals which originate from precisely the same tissue location.

  • Patent number: 9995774
Abstract: Determining a property of an electrical signal at a node instant at the current instant (INSTC); determining a previous function indicative of a property of the signal at the node at a previous instant; determining an error function in a previous frequency estimation at the node at a previous instant; determining a first current function indicative of the property of the signal at the node at INSTC in accordance with the determined property, the previous function, and the error function; receiving, from another node, a second current function indicative of a property of an electrical signal at the at least one other node at INSTC; combining the first current function and the second current function to produce a current combined function (CCF) indicative of a property of the signal at the node at INSTC; and estimating a current frequency of the signal at the node in accordance with the CCF.
