Patent number: 10479290Abstract: A container assembly for a vehicle having a container receiving base having one of a catch and a catch receiving space and a removable container selectively disposed on the container receiving base, the removable container having a container body defining an item receiving space, and a handle pivotally connected to the container body and being movable between a locked and an unlocked position, the handle having an other one of the catch and the catch receiving space, the other one of the catch and the catch receiving space being movable with the handle, where in the locked position, the catch is received in the catch receiving space, preventing separation of the container from the base and in the unlocked position, the catch is out of the catch receiving space, allowing separation of the container from the base. A removable container and a vehicle incorporating the container assembly are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2015Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: BOMBARDIER RECREATIONAL PRODUCTS INC.Inventors: Mikhael Simard, Stephane Veillette, Dany Bernier, Dave Proulx, Matt Tandrup

Patent number: 10406986Abstract: A vehicle has a frame, a seat connected to the frame, a member connected to the frame, a storage container receiving surface connected to the frame, a protrusion protruding from the storage container receiving surface, and a storage container selectively disposed on the storage container receiving surface. The storage container has a storage container body having a bottom surface and a clip. The bottom surface defines a recess. The protrusion is selectively received in the recess. The clip is connected to the storage container body. The member is selectively received in the clip. The storage container is selectively removable from the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2015Date of Patent: September 10, 2019Assignee: BOMBARDIER RECREATIONAL PRODUCTS INC.Inventors: Nicolas Roy, Dany Bernier, Didier Dubois, Jean-philippe Crepeau

Patent number: 7213668Abstract: A vehicle, such as a snowmobile, includes an engine with one or more air intakes for receiving air into the engine and an airbox for directing air into the air intakes. The airbox slides to facilitate installation and removal of the airbox from the engine compartment, which thus economizes time and cost both for vehicle assembly and maintenance. The sliding airbox also eliminates the need for a gap between the fuel tank and the airbox, allowing the fuel tank to be moved forward, thus improving mass centralization of the vehicle. The sliding airbox has a rectangular slot which slides onto a rectangular plate on an intake adapter. The intake adapter has a flexible tubular connection for each cylinder of the engine which are secured to each air intake with a hose clamp. The air intake usually includes an air metering device such as a carburetor or throttle body.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2005Date of Patent: May 8, 2007Assignee: Bombardier Recreational Products Inc.Inventors: Karl Richard, Andre Gauthier, Dany Bernier
