Patent number: 7793646Abstract: A bowstring suppression device can be coupled to a bow to reduce the sound produced by the bowstring when the bow is drawn and released. The bowstring suppression device may include a cushion portion that is positioned adjacent to the bowstring when the bow is in an undrawn configuration. When the bow is drawn and released, the bowstring contacts the bowstring suppression device thereby deadening residual movement of the bowstring and reducing the sound generated by the bowstring.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2007Date of Patent: September 14, 2010Assignee: Hoyt Archery, Inc.Inventors: Darin B. Cooper, Gideon S. Jolley, Randy J. Walk

Patent number: 7775201Abstract: An assembly is disclosed, which may include at least one latch element having at least one retaining wall comprising a tapered surface. Further, the assembly may include at least one base element having at least one tapered side surface configured to couple to a respective tapered surface of the at least one retaining wall. Optionally, the latch element may include at least two retaining walls and the base element may include at least two tapered side surfaces. A movable locking element may be configured to be selectively positioned at a first position to couple the at least one base element to the at least one latch element and at least a second position to decouple the at least one base element and the at least one latch element. An archery system including such an assembly is disclosed as well as a method of coupling a base element to a latch element. Adjustable quivers and components are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2005Date of Patent: August 17, 2010Assignee: Hoyt Archery, Inc.Inventor: Darin B. Cooper

Patent number: 7690372Abstract: A pulley arrangement for a compound archery bow (100) that combines the forgiveness and symmetry of a “dual cam” system with the positive draw stop (hard wall), enforced synchronization (or built-in timing) between opposite pulley assemblies, and high let-off associated with “single cam” systems. The pulley rigging (112) includes only a single cable reference anchor to a limb (104, 106). Certain pulleys (108, 110) include rotating module portions (183, 214) effective to change the wrapped lengths of power and control cables (270, 272) to change draw length (LD) while the bow (100) is strung, and at a brace condition with the drawstring (116) under full tension, and without changing the timing of the pulley members (108, 110), or changing the lengths of rigging members (112). Certain embodiments include a resilient element (196) in a positive draw stop (194) to reduce noise as the draw stop (194) engages a rigging element (270).Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2005Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Assignee: Hoyt USA, Inc.Inventors: Darin B. Cooper, Jason L. Fogg

Patent number: 7574811Abstract: A bow sight including an adjustment system is described herein. The adjustment system may include an elevation adjustment mechanism and a windage adjustment mechanism. The user can adjust the elevation and/or windage of a sight component of the bow sight with the adjustment system. The adjustment system may be configured to allow the user to make very fine or micro-adjustments to the bow sight. The adjustment system may also be compact and easy to use relative to conventional bow sight adjustment systems.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2007Date of Patent: August 18, 2009Assignee: Hoyt Archery, Inc.Inventors: Zak T. Kurtzhals, Darin B. Cooper
