    Abstract: A vehicle glass roof module is provided by assembling a vehicle at a vehicle assembly plant and attaching a roof portion that is adapted to provide a perimeter mounting portion for mounting the glass roof module thereto. The roof portion includes a front header portion and a rear header portion and a glass panel mounting portion or trough at each of the header portions. The assembled vehicle may be water tested at the vehicle assembly plant, with the roof portion attached thereto. The assembled vehicle may be transported to an external provider for installing the glass roof module, where a center roof panel portion of the roof portion is removed by cutting the roof portion at or near the mounting portions or troughs. A glass roof module having a glass roof panel is set onto the mounting portions or troughs and is attached to the mounting portions or troughs.

    Abstract: A window module for a school bus includes a frame, a fixed window panel affixed to a portion of the frame, a perimeter panel secured to another portion of the frame and defining an opening at the other portion of the frame, and a movable window panel. The movable window panel is slidably positioned at the frame such that opposite perimeter edges of the movable window panel are slidably engaged with opposite channel members of the frame. The movable window panel is movable along the channel members and interiorly of the fixed window panel when opened and interiorly of and generally at the perimeter panel when at least partially closed. The exterior surfaces of the fixed window panel and of the perimeter panel form a generally flush surface at an exterior of the school bus when the window assembly is installed at the school bus.

The fixed window panel has a perimeter edge that defines at least a portion of an opening. The movable window panel is movable relative to the fixed window panel to open and close the opening. The movable window panel and the fixed window panel have opposed surfaces. The sealing member is attached to one of the opposed surfaces and slidably engages the other of the opposed surfaces as the movable window panel is moved relative to the fixed window panel.

    Abstract: A window and sun shade module for a vehicle includes a frame portion configured for mounting to a vehicle, a window panel and a sun shade screen. The frame portion includes the window panel and at least one channel that extends at least partially along and generally parallel to the window panel. The sun shade screen is movable along the channel to at least partially shield the window panel when moved at least partially along the channel of the frame portion. The sun shade screen may be tracked along the window panel and may be in close proximity to the window panel when shielding at least a portion of the window panel.
