Each hook includes a body provided with a catch that engages a corresponding knife and a metal blade that is relatively movable with respect to portions of the body adjacent the catch and that interacts with the selection device to selectively retain the hook in the top dead position thereof.

Abstract: The shed forming device according to the invention for a weaving loom of Jacquard type comprises two series of knives actuated by a single input shaft animated by a continuous movement of rotation and extending between two plates which support oscillating shafts equipped with rocking levers kinematically connected to the series of knives. The input shaft is equipped, in the vicinity of each plate, with means for driving the rocking levers. The oscillating shafts extend in parallel between the plates and are each connected to the input shaft by a single rod and eccentric link, a link being respectively made in the vicinity of each plate.

Abstract: Connecting devices for assembling the ends of helical springs with respect to other members wherein each connecting device includes at least two elastic branches adapted to frictionally engage with the end coils of a helical spring to thereby prevent the resonance of the spring when it is subjected to extension and compression. The connecting devices are particularly adapted for use for damping springs associated with the heddles in a weaving loom.

Abstract: A double-lift weave system comprising a plurality of hooks, each of which is provided with two arms mounted on a base and each of which includes a lift lip adapted to cooperate with one of the knives of two griffe frames moving in phase opposition in a reciprocating movement. The position of each lip is controlled in order to be selectively moveable with respect to a knife by an actuator disposed between the two arms. Each hook further includes two open shed heels which are controlled by the actuator and adapted to cooperate with open shed bars so as to be moveable with respect to the bars. The system is particularly applicable to weaving looms.

Abstract: A mechanism for controlling the reciprocating movement of griffe frames in a weaving loom which includes four crank arms which are mounted offset angularly with respect to one another to a driving shaft associated with the loom. Two short connecting rods and two long connecting rods are connected to the four crank arms with the two short connecting rods being pivotally mounted to one of the griffe frames and the two long connecting rods being mounted to the other of the griffe frames whereby rotation of the driving shaft causes a reciprocating movement of the griffe frames.

Abstract: A movable hook of a shed-forming device for a weaving loom which includes a supple tongue which is urged toward engagement with the tip of a pivotable retention hook by a spring element mounted on the movable hook. The supple tongue is engageable with the retention hook to pivot an opposite end thereof into contact with an electromagnet which is selectively controlled to either retain the retention hook or release the retention hook to subsequently engage a notch in the movable hook spaced from the tongue and thereby retain the movable hook in fixed relationship to the retention hook.
