  • Publication number: 20180229906
Abstract: A reinforced cable tie generally includes an elongate strap having a first end, a second end and an elongate planar strap body therebetween, a head having an upstanding central wall separating a first and a second elongate parallel passageway through the head for respective receipt of the first and second ends of said strap, a locking device supported in the head for retaining the first and second ends of the strap and a continuous reinforcement disposed in and extending substantially continuously along a path defining the strap. In a method for forming a cable tie, a continuous reinforcing strand is co-extruded within an elongate strap and a head is assembled to the strap.

  • Publication number: 20180191142
Abstract: A method of building an insulation system around a naked conductor section of a power cable. The insulation system includes an inner semiconducting layer arranged around the conductor, an insulation layer arranged around the inner semiconducting layer, and an outer semiconducting layer arranged around the insulation layer. The method includes: a) placing the naked conductor section in a mold, and b) molding an insulation system around the naked conductor section, wherein the molding of the insulation system involves injecting a first semiconducting compound into a first mold cavity to form an inner semiconducting layer around the naked conductor section, injecting an insulation compound into a second mold cavity to form an insulation layer around the inner semiconducting layer, and injecting a second semiconducting compound into a third mold cavity to form an outer semiconducting layer around the insulation layer.

  • Publication number: 20170373545
Abstract: An electrical machine has a nonmetallic housing having a stator band and an endplate, wherein the laminated stator core is in self-locked engagement with the housing. Another electrical machine has a unitary nonmetallic housing with an integral stator band and an integral endplate, wherein the laminated stator core is over-molded with the housing. Yet another electrical machine has a unitary nonmetallic housing with an integral stator band and an integral endplate, wherein the laminated stator core is in engagement with the stator band with an interference fit.

  • Publication number: 20160243740
Abstract: A method for injection molding of thermoplastic pole parts utilizes a mold to fix at least one vacuum interrupter and contact terminals during a molding process. At least one injection opening or gate for injection of thermoplastic material is formed into the mold. The mold is applied with multiple injection openings at least along its long axis, for injection of hot thermoplastic material, and the injection openings or gates can be steered in such a way that they inject thermoplastic material simultaneously or with a defined time dependent injection pattern. This process alleviates the issue of a pressure gradient along the long axis of the molded pole part, shortens process times, and achieves a homogenous dissipation of material during the molding process.

  • Publication number: 20140174787
Abstract: An insulator for a gas insulated device and method of making and/or producing the insulator are disclosed. The insulator includes an injection molded insulator disc and a conductor. The insulator disc includes a center opening encompassed by an inner bead inside which the conductor is arranged. The insulator disc includes, for example, a first material which is injection molded onto the conductor.

  • Publication number: 20120286915
Abstract: An electric device including windings and magnetic cores, the device further including an encapsulating plastic encasement which includes an inner part and an outer part, the inner part being an inner insulating resin composition of thermosetting material encapsulating components of the device, and the outer part being a shell of a thermoplastic material which at least partly encloses the resin composition in contact therewith. Some components of the device are located in inner boxes encapsulated by the inner insulating resin composition. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing such a device. According to the method the shell is used as the mould form when moulding the insulating resin composition, and some components of the device are placed in boxes before inserting them into the shell.
