Abstract: Disclosed herein is a high efficiency portable filtration device and a method for rapidly filtering, concentrating and detecting the presence of any waterborne pathogens, such as bacteria, in a liquid (water) sample, measure the total numbers of bacteria present, and to estimate the endotoxin-producing bacteria levels in the water sample.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for a hemodiafiltration delivery module that is used in conjunction with a UF controlled dialysis machine to enable hemodiafiltration therapy to be performed. The advantage is that one can fully utilize a current functioning dialysis machine to perform a hemodiafiltration therapy as opposed to purchasing a completely new machine that offers this capability.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a high efficiency filtration device and a method thereof for analysis of a fluid sample to detect the presence of target pathogens or indicator microorganisms. Also disclosed herein is a kit to detect the presence of target pathogens or indicator microorganisms, comprising the disclosed filtration device and a molecular detection device. Also disclosed herein is a hardware mobile electronic device and a software application that analyze a fluid sample to detect the presence of target pathogens or indicator microorganisms and wirelessly transmits such information to users.

Abstract: A flushable filter system is configured to purify a contaminated liquid containing substances that degrade filter performance and includes a filter cartridge including semi-permeable hollow fiber membrane that separates the filter cartridge into an upstream compartment and a downstream compartment. The system includes a flush port in communication with the upstream compartment of the filter cartridge for periodically discharging accumulated particulates and contaminates from an upstream side of the semi-permeable hollow fiber membrane. A device is provided to reduce mechanical stress imposed on the semi-permeable hollow fiber membrane during operation of the flushable filter system resulting in maintenance of integrity of the semi-permeable hollow fiber membrane during extended use and cyclic operation of the filter cartridge. The device is configured to dampen any fluid pressure spike that is observed within the flushable filter system during operation thereof.
