    Abstract: A method for ascertaining a characteristic of a geological formation surrounding a wellbore. The method comprises first generating a set of data including azimuthal and radial information. A set of parameters indicative of fluid behavior in the formation is determined for each one of at least two azimuths from the generated data. A tool-specific invasion factor is then determined. The characteristic is then determined from the parameters, the azimuthal information, and the invasion factor.
