  • Publication number: 20160136836
Abstract: A stock guide assembly guides movement of stock along a work table. The assembly includes a base and a roller operatively connected to the base to engage stock and hold it against the work table. In some embodiments, a biasing member yieldably biases the roller to urge the stock toward the work table and accommodate changes in thickness of the stock. The roller can be mounted at a skew angle to urge the stock toward a fence of the work table. The assembly can include a shaft movable with respect to the base for translationally adjusting the distance of the roller from the base and rotatably adjusting the distance between the roller and the work table. The roller can be rotatably mounted to the end of an arm oriented relative the work table so stock kickback drives the arm to pivot and drive the roller toward the work surface.

  • Patent number: 9039000
Abstract: A lift device for selectively adjusting a vertical position of a power tool relative to a working surface of a plate of a work bench includes a carriage assembly securable to an underside of the plate. The carriage assembly includes a securement mechanism selectively adjustable for interchangeably securing a plurality of power tools of different cross-sectional dimensions to the carriage assembly. A drive assembly selectively moves the securement mechanism upward and downward relative to the plate to adjust the vertical position of the power tool relative to the working surface when the power tool is secured to the carriage assembly. A drive-locking mechanism selectively locks the drive assembly. The drive-locking mechanism includes a cam lock for selectively engaging the drive shaft to inhibit rotation of the drive shaft.

  • Publication number: 20140352512
Abstract: A stock guide assembly for use with a work table to guide movement of stock along the work table in a feed direction includes a body. The body includes a portion lying in a plane parallel to the feed direction when used to guide movement of the stock. An adjustment mechanism is associated with the body for attaching the body to the work table and permitting the body to be adjusted on the table along an x-axis and a y-axis. A roller assembly is mounted on the body. The roller assembly includes a roller mounted for rotation relative to the body. The roller is positioned at a skew angle relative to the body portion plane and to the feed direction when used to guide movement of the stock. A second stock guide assembly substantially similar to the first stock guide assembly can be provided for use with the work table.

  • Patent number: 8763502
Abstract: A featherboard assembly for use with a work table. The featherboard assembly includes a featherboard having a body and an axis. The featherboard assembly further includes an adjustment mechanism associated with the featherboard for attaching the featherboard to the work table. The adjustment mechanism permits the featherboard to be adjusted on the table along a first axis and permits the featherboard to be adjusted along a second axis. The adjustment mechanism is capable of locking the featherboard against movement along the second axis while the featherboard is moved along the first axis and locking the featherboard against movement along the first axis while the featherboard is moved along the second axis.

  • Publication number: 20090272463
Abstract: A jig for cutting a mortise in a workpiece using a drilling tool having a mortising drill bit. The jig includes a base and a guide plate mounted on the base for movement relative to the base. A guide assembly locates the drilling tool. The guide assembly includes at least one rail supported by the guide plate. A guide is mounted on the rails for movement along the rails relative to the guide plate. The guide has an opening therein receiving and positioning the drilling tool. A bushing within the opening in the guide is mounted on the guide for rotation relative to the guide plate. A guide actuator includes a lever operatively mounted on the guide plate and a link connecting the lever to the guide whereby rocking the lever produces linear reciprocating motion of the guide on the rails.

  • Publication number: 20090004956
Abstract: The honing jig has a base on which a whetstone or other abrasive substance is mounted. A pair of spaced guide rods extends the length of the base. A carriage is mounted to tubes which slide along the rods and through which the guide rods extend. The blade to be sharpened is held to the carriage by a clamp and the clamp swivels on the carriage to allow the inclination of the blade relative to the whetstone to be adjusted. The angle of the guide rods can be adjusted to permit fine adjustment of the inclination of the blade.

  • Patent number: 6520224
Abstract: The mounting plate includes an upper panel having an aperture for receipt of the cutting implement of a power tool such as a bit or a saw. The panel is adapted to be received in the opening for an insert formed in the work bench where its upper surface is flush with the working surface of the bench. A sub-panel is attached to the lower surface of the upper panel and has a number of slots for receipt of screws for inter-connecting the sub-panel and the mounting ring or base of the power tool. The screws do not extend to the upper surface of the upper panel where they would interfere with the operation of the power tool. The mounting plate has one or more anchor brackets for interconnecting the sub-panel to the upper panel so that the sub-panel does not rotate relative to the upper panel. The mounting plate may be connected to the base of a power tool having a wide variation of hole patterns.

  • Patent number: 5823239
Abstract: A work bench has a stationary planar upper surface and a fence to which a piece of work is clamped. The fence may be moved so that the position of the work piece may be adjusted. Once in the desired position, the work piece remains immovable. A carriage slides beneath the upper surface and a router is mounted on the carriage. The router bit extends through an elongated slot in the upper surface and into contact with the immovable work piece. As the carriage slides the router cuts the work piece. The fence has a base which rotates on top of the upper surface and a bracket slides on rails formed on top of the base. Knobs are provided for tightening the base to the upper surface and the bracket to the base to prevent such rotation and sliding.
