  • Patent number: 9548670
Abstract: Methods and systems for calibrating an inductor-inductor-capacitor (LLC) resonant converter are provided herein. The method includes calculating input voltage mathematically as a function of at least one of an output voltage, a load current, and tolerances of components of the LLC resonant converter and operating the LLC resonant converter in an open loop mode at a nominal resonant frequency. The method also includes measuring output voltage of the LLC resonant converter and comparing the measured output voltage to the calculated input voltage.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 25, 2014
Date of Patent: January 17, 2017
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Raghothama Reddy, Darwin Drake Smith
  • Patent number: 9438027
Abstract: A power interruption circuit for use in a power distribution module is provided. The power interruption circuit is configured to provide power to a load and includes a shunt resistor, a plurality of switches, and microprocessor. The microprocessor is configured to determine a digitized value of a current flowing through the shunt resistor, determine a digitized value of an output voltage of the power interruption circuit, calculate, from the digitized current value and the digitized output voltage value, a power provided by the power interruption circuit to the load, compare the calculated power to a threshold power level, and control the plurality of switches based on the comparison.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 15, 2013
Date of Patent: September 6, 2016
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Gary Jay Turner, Darwin Drake Smith, Tab O. Walter
