  • Patent number: 5979010
Abstract: A windshield washer and wiper assembly for cleaning a windshield of an automobile. The assembly is generally comprised of an elongated housing, a source of windshield washer fluid under pressure, a perforated bladder within the housing, means for washing the windshield mounted through the housing in contact with the bladder, a wiper blade mounted on the housing and means for deflating the bladder. The bladder, upon actuation of the washer fluid source, inflates with washer fluid, urging the washing means against the windshield while simultaneously disengaging the wiper blade from the windshield and leaking washer fluid onto the windshield. The bladder returns to a contracted state by the deflating means upon deactivation of the washer fluid source to return the wiper blade to the windshield surface.

  • Patent number: 5585010
Abstract: A filtering apparatus for use generally in filtering the fluid of an aquarium. It consists of a clear housing that is submerged within the tank with this housing having both intake and discharge openings therein for the passage of fluid therethrough. This housing is further configured with a series of channels formed therein for directing the flow of fluid within the housing to the filter. A removable filter is mounted within the housing and is coupled to the discharge opening which, in turn, is coupled to a pump. The housing is openable so that access to the filter is provided when the filter needs to be replaced. Also, adjacent each intake opening is a flap to permit only one-way flow across the intake openings and into the housing.

  • Patent number: 5242244
Abstract: An aquatic control sleeve apparatus for enabling application of chemical agents to underwater aquatic vegetation accumulating in a body of flowing water and a method for enabling application of the same. The aquatic control sleeve apparatus has an aquatic control sleeve placeable within a body of flowing water substantially parallel to its normal flow path. A first collar attached to the upstream end of the aquatic control sleeve funnels the entire flow of water into the aquatic control sleeve. The water surrounding the aquatic control sleeve is stilled or pacified by the funnelling of the moving water into the aquatic control sleeve, thus permitting the application of chemical agents to the stilled water to treat underwater vegetation without the fear of the chemical agents being swept away by the water current. A second collar is provided at the downstream end of the aquatic control sleeve and discharges the water funnelled through the aquatic control sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4541202
Abstract: A sliding door operator comprises a tubular housing adapted to receive first and second elongated bars in a spaced apart and parallel arrangement. Both bars include a gear-toothed rack engaged by a single motor driven gear. An end of one bar is secured to the door and an end of the other bar is secured to a wall structure. A bracket secured to the door includes registering apertures adapted to mate with a bore in the end of one of the bars so that the bar can be detachably locked to the door by a locking pin. The other bar also includes a bore adapted to mate with the aperture in a channel bracket secured to the stationary wall structure to receive a removable locking pin therethrough. In addition, the operator includes a locking mechanism for locking the bars in a fixed position with respect to each other.
