  • Patent number: 6829480
Abstract: A mobile communication unit for a private system including a transceiver adapted to communicate with a plurality of private wireless office systems, a memory storing user group information, and a processor adapted to selectively initiate transmission of the user group information in the memory by the transceiver. The user group information identifies a location register storing information relating to access rights of the mobile communication unit on the private wireless office system with which the transceiver is then communicating, and transmission of the user group information initiates determination of access rights with the private wireless office system with which the transceiver is then communicating.

  • Patent number: 6704569
Abstract: A cluster of private wireless communications systems connects to a public wireless communications system via single administrative node. The administrative node includes a shared user database containing information associated with every user of the private systems. The administrative node also includes a shared system and configuration database containing network administration information for each private system in the cluster. The administrative node further includes a switching unit connected between each private system and to the public system. Roaming among the private systems in the cluster is facilitated by storing all user data at a central shared user database, accessed by each private system as necessary. System administration, particularly for shared system parameters, is simplified by a single administrative interface common to all the private systems.

  • Patent number: 6683881
Abstract: An interface between an SS7 gateway and an IP network allows application layer data, such as MAP and TCAP messages, to be transported unchanged through the interface. The invention also provides a protocol for transporting MAP and TCAP messages that eliminates the need for SS7 protocols, and in particular, eliminates the need to implement the Signaling Connection Control Part (SCCP). The interface is particularly useful for connecting a private wireless office system to an SS7 network to allow roaming between the private wireless office telephone system and the PLMN.

  • Publication number: 20030155748
Abstract: The modular trailer of the present invention generally includes a base frame, a tire assembly, a tongue assembly, an end assembly and at least one modular carrier assembly. The modular carrier assembly is available in a plurality of configurations and can be used for transporting vehicles such as personal watercraft, all terrain vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, golf carts and lawn and garden equipment. The modular carrier assemblies are removably securable to the base frame assembly to provide a myriad of structural and functional configurations for the trailer system. Each carrier assembly is fully compatible with the base frame and designed for ease-of-use and installation. Modular engagement of the carrier assembly to the base frame assembly is generally achieved using channeling frame members and fasteners and securing means capable of engagement and securement substantially without the use of tools.

  • Patent number: 6594258
Abstract: An integrated IP-SS7 gateway and home location register system is disclosed for transmitting and receiving messages in a wireless communication network. The system comprises a processing system including a home location register (HLR) storing wireless user subscriber information. A first interface is in communication with a wireless office system (WOS) network for routing messages using a TCP/IP protocol. A second interface is in communication with a public land mobile network (PLMN) for routing messages using an MTP protocol. A gateway function is operatively connected to the HLR and the first and second interfaces for controlling message transmission therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20030026229
Abstract: The dedicated telecommunications lines functioning as data trunks carrying voice and data between the switching points of a wireless communications system are replaced by virtual data trunks implemented over an Internet Protocol network. An IP gateway associated with each switching point receives a plurality of data trunks carrying communications data. The data are assembled into IP packets, with a source address associated with the gateway and a destination address derived from which data trunk carried the communications data. The IP packets are sent across an IP network to the destination gateways. Incoming data packets, with a destination IP address matching that associated with the IP gateway, are received at the gateway. The data are extracted from the IP packets, and directed to one of the data trunks to the switching point, based on the IP source address of the packet.
