  • Publication number: 20180372239
Abstract: A method of assembling a solenoid valve assembly is disclosed. The method includes inserting an axial end of a valve housing partially through an aperture of a tab. The axial end of the valve housing extends partially through an opening of a solenoid housing. An interlocking element is positioned in a first axial end of the solenoid housing. The method includes inserting a petal of the valve housing into a pocket of the interlocking element. The method includes engaging the interlocking element with an installation tool and rotating the installation tool to rotate the interlocking element and the valve housing until a lip of the solenoid housing is axially positioned between (1) the petal of the valve housing and (2) a protrusion of the tab, such that the valve housing, the tab, and the solenoid housing are fixed to each other.

  • Patent number: 10119628
Abstract: A pressure compensated switching solenoid valve is provided having a solenoid connected to a hydraulic housing that has a first chamber defined between first and second valve seats and a second chamber. A sealing tube is connected to the hydraulic housing, and an armature is slidably located therein. A sealing element engages an end of the armature, and is movable via the solenoid and the spring between a first position, in which a poppet contacts the second valve seat to provide one communication path, and a second position in which the intermediate sealing surface contacts and seals against the first valve seat to provide a second communication path. At least one pressure compensation fluid pathway in the hydraulic housing extends from the supply port to a generally annular upper surface of the armature to compensate for pressure fluctuations from a pressure supply that act on the poppet.

  • Publication number: 20180155299
Abstract: An azasteroid mimic or an intermediate for the preparation of an azasteroid and azasteroid mimic is formed via an oxocycloalkenyl isoxazolium anhydrobase and its dimer. The dimer can be used to form mono- and dihydrazones, which can be an azasteroid mimic or an intermediate for the preparation of an azasteroid and azasteroid mimic. A method of preparation of the dimer and the azasteroid mimic or an intermediate for the preparation of an azasteroid and azasteroid mimic occurs with hydrazonation and, optionally, a subsequent dehydrazonation. The dimer can be converted by inserting a nitrogen atom into the six membered ring of to a C-17 position cyclohexenone moiety of the dimer to yield a reduced tetrazolo[1,5-a]azepin-8-yl group. A subsequent hydrozone formation at a benzylic ketone can be carried out to generate an azasteroid mimic with a (triazol-4-yl)imino substituent. Monohydrazones can be converted to their thione equivalents.

  • Patent number: 9971038
Abstract: A high contrast dosimeter is constructed where a plastic support is at least partially coated with a layer having a colored radical trapping compound. The plastic is a polymer that can contain a radiation sensitive plasticizer. The plastic forms radicals upon irradiation with high-energy (low wavelength) radiation. Upon diffusion of the radicals to the layer of radical trapping compound, reaction forms a compound with a different color than the radical trapping compound. In an embodiment of the invention, the plastic support is celluloid and the radical trapping compound is an azulenyl nitrone (AZN).

  • Patent number: 9894687
Abstract: Methods and devices are provided. Devices asynchronously transmit, without diversity, bursts including information encoded using a low rate FEC code having a code rate no higher than ½. A terminal receives transmitted multiple overlapping bursts. The terminal detects and decodes bursts in a window of burst times, performs an iteration of an iterative interference cancellation process, and when at least one burst of at least a portion of the window remains incorrectly decoded, another iteration of the iterative cancellation process is performed as long as a maximum number of repeated iterations has not yet been performed. When all of the bursts in at least the portion of the window are correctly decoded, the window is advanced by an amount of burst time, at least the portion of the window is updated, and the iterations may be repeated. Correctly decoded bursts may be passed to a next process or device.

  • Patent number: 9808221
Abstract: An intracavity ultrasound probe includes a pivotally mounted array transducer which is oscillated to scan a volumetric region from within the body. The transducer is oscillated by a motor located in the probe handle. The array transducer is immersed in a liquid which acoustically couples ultrasonic energy between the elements of the transducer and the body. The acoustic coupling liquid is located in the distal tip of the probe shaft, where only 6 cc of liquid is required. The small amount of liquid reduces the weight of the shaft of the probe so that the center of gravity of the probe is in the handle, making the probe comfortable and easy to manipulate. The majority of parts in the probe shaft are made of aluminum or other low density materials, keeping the overall weight of the probe to about 250 grams.

  • Publication number: 20170299519
Abstract: Dual mode genetics testing systems are devised about a single element testing platform. A microfluidic network and system of interconnected receiving cells and reaction vessels supports at the same time genotyping and copy number analysis where the platform may be subject to a common thermal cycle schedule to cause the proper reactions (DNA replication) necessary in both test types. Further, the microfluidic platform which includes reaction vessels for genotyping which are spatially removed from reaction vessels for copy number analysis, is coupled to optical scanner and detection systems specifically arranged to apply test specific detection routines on each of these distinct regions or portions of the dual mode test platform.

Abstract: A method of assembling a solenoid valve assembly as well as a solenoid valve assembly are provided. A polymeric valve housing having a plurality of housing posts extending from one end is assembled to a metallic intermediate plate by inserting the posts through corresponding openings on the flange. The housing posts are then at least one of heat or ultrasonically staked over the openings to connect the metallic intermediate plate to the polymeric valve housing. A metallic solenoid housing with solenoid components therein is then placed over the metallic intermediate plate and the metallic housing is crimped onto the metallic intermediate plate. Additional valve and solenoid components are inserted during the assembly process.

  • Publication number: 20170246625
Abstract: Biological sample collection kits are devised with physical features to enable a high performance collection system which delivers preprocessed biological matter via conventional shipping means to a testing laboratories. In particular, untrained and unskilled users deposit biological matter such as saliva or blood into a receiving vessel. By sealing the container, the user causes release of a premixed solution containing preservatives and optionally lysis reagents. In addition, a purification agent is arranged to bind to target molecules and facilitate their removal from solution. These time consuming processes occur while the sample is in transit to the testing facility such that when it arrives, it is in a preconditioned state immediately ready for execution of washing steps.
